Have you been to MoRoCo yet? If not, go right now! Not only do they sell fresh mouthwatering macarons and chocolates, this Yorkville restaurant also serves adorable non-desert-looking deserts! I really like their Burger and Fries with Raspberry “ketchup”…Yum! This was my second time trying it, and the novelty still has yet to worn off! Next time I’ll be trying their “Spring Rolls”; they sounded delicious, but the Burger is simply more photogenic. Plus, the sugar cookie fries are soo good with raspberry coulis! I’m actually thinking of making this myself. I’ll substitute the chocolate mousse patty for a brownie, and perhaps add fruit to the equation. Maybe kiwi instead of lettuce, bananas for cheese, and strawberries for ketchup? Hmm…If I do end up making this, I’ll post the end result here. Anyway, the point is – if you’re looking for a new place to try, check out MoRoCo, with classy ambiance and yummy deserts, it surely won’t disappoint!
Organic Style: Amanda
Rompers and jumpsuits had their comeback this summer. For a bit, I’ve dallied with an idea of getting one, but at then end of the day chickened out came to my senses and decided against it. Unfortunately, I’m not one of those lucky few that can pull one off. Amanda here is much braver than I am! Her outfit reminded me of a girl I saw in Paris this summer, that wore something similar, but in my opinion was not able to pull it off (pics to come). I think Amanda’s height, and the fact that she is a skinny-minny, lets her get away with wearing this jumpsuit without looking, well, ridiculous. I’d add a funky belt to this outfit, to define the waist, but other than that, I think her oufit is tres cute! Love the turquoise heels! Great way to add an unexpected pop of color!
Grand Opening of Anthropologie in Yorkville
I have looooved Anthropologie ever since my Houston days, and was always a bit sad that Toronto peeps were missing out on that amazing store! When the first location opened up in Toronto, I was very excited, but still sad…because Don Mills is way too far for me and my friends…but now there’s no sadness in sight!…For those under a rock, the second Anthropologie store opened its doors this month in Yorkville, and a couple of my friends and I were super happy to participate in the “Bits and Baubles” workshop and the Grand Opening of the store last Friday.
The “Bits and Baubles” workshop was a lot of fun! We were given limitless supplies (textiles, beads, thread, buttons, flowers, glue guns, etc) to create our very own statement necklaces! And let me tell you, it was a fantastic way to spend our Friday night, very different from our usual dinner, martinis, and gossip Fridays! The girls and I crafted, strung, and glued…and results were more than satisfactory. But who knew that necklace-making is such hard work?! Thankfully, sangrias were on hand to keep us from passing out from all of the handy labour!
Organic Style: Miriam
Jo and I both fell in love with Miriam’s jacket at first sight. Loved its architectural simplicity and off-white color, as well as the way Miriam paired it with a simple white tank underneath, coupled with a pair of skinny True Religion jeans, and of course a pair of Yves Klein blue peep toe flats with fun yellowish-green nail polish on her toes and fingers. Simple and perfect!
