If you’re a fan of Hermès, do I have good news for you!!! After skipping a few years, the Hermès Canada Silk and Accessories charity sale is finally going to happen next month! With proceeds going to support the Ross Tilley Burn Centre at Sunnybrook Hospital, this highly-anticipated sale is sure to be an event you won’t want to miss. Considering that this used to be a biennial event, and more than two years have passed since the last sale, my hope is that the selection is going to be even better than in prior years. If you haven’t been to an Hermès charity sale before, you can read some of my “been-there-done-that” tips and more details after the jump. You will want to come prepared, trust me!

If you still haven’t started your holiday gift shopping, don’t panic. Black Friday is the best time to get deals on everything from hostess gifts to treat-yo-self goodies. And since one of the biggest sale days of the year is quickly approaching, I wanted to share my fave gift ideas from my most-frequented shops. My number one Black Friday (and Boxing Day) strategy includes a bit of pre-planning, favouriting all of my must-haves in my internet browser, and then buying it all online once sales are in effect. So go ahead, check out the fun gift ideas below, save your faves for later, and don’t forget to get something awesome for yourself!
Shopbop Sale is already in effect, and you can get up to an additional 30% off sale and regular-priced items until Nov 26th with promo code MORE17. My fave things to buy from Shopbop are usually the things that never go on sale, like Stuart Weitzman over-the-knee boots, and vintage CHANEL bags, but it’s also a great time to stock up on essentials like pretty undies and luxurious pajamas.
Sephora is obviously a great place to shop for beauty, but what sets it apart is its selection of fab limited-edition gift sets. If you have a true beauty obsessive on your shopping list, treat them to a chic Armani Palette or the dreamy Naked Vault Volume IV…there are so many cool gift sets to choose from! My personal fave thing to order from Sephora (for myself) are the Caudalie sets – such a good deal compared to buying each thing separately!
3. Hudson’s Bay
I am still kicking myself for missing out on one of the recent Bay Days sales on Dyson vacuums, but thankfully, more hot sales will keep coming in the next few weeks. This year, I’m picking up some beautiful L’Occitane gifts from Hudson’s Bay, HBC PJs, and holding out hope for deals on anything from SMEG!
Indigo is literally my happy place – any time I need a pick-me-up, I head on over to a store near my house to find my next fave book. This year, I highly recommend Call Me By Your Name by Andre Aciman (the movie is a masterpiece but so is the book). There are also a ton of gifts for anyone and everyone on your shopping list – from Fuji Instax Smartphone Printer to glam Jenny Bird earrings.
5. Holt Renfrew
1. Diptyque Constellation Candles ($145) 2. Charlotte Tilbury Naughty & Nice Magic Box ($250) 3. Twilly d’Hermès Eau de Parfum ($147) 4. Tiffany & Co. Piggy Bank ($170) 5. Me To We Choker ($50) 6. CHANEL Brush Collection ($234) 7. Holt Renfrew 2017 Holiday Bear ($55) 8. Bastide Bath Oil ($65)
If you haven’t been to Holt Renfrew on Bloor St lately, I highly recommend a visit – there are so many special activations and pop-up shops to discover, you’ll have a blast while getting things checked off your shopping list. There’s the CHANEL Gifting Studio with awesome freebies and exclusive items; a Tiffany & Co. pop-up shop with the chicest gifts around; there’s the Bandier pop-up where you can find sporty gifts for your loved ones or a perfect workout outfit for yourself. Either way, you are guaranteed to find a luxurious prezzie or five for your nearest and dearest.
Happy Shopping, everyone!
More after the jump!
Even though we’ve been spoiled with an unseasonably toasty September, I can’t stop thinking about fall must-haves – perfectly cozy knits, chic but comfy boots, and coats that are both stylish and warm. Well, good news is that Shopbop’s Event of The Season Sale is here, and you can get all of those wishlist items you’ve been eyeing at an additional 20-25% off…yes, even sale items!
Get 25% off orders of $500 or more, or 20% off all other orders with promo code EOTS17! And while there are some exclusions, Shopbop’s Event of The Season Sale is the perfect time to get a discount on items that normally never go on sale. This sale is on for 3 days only, and if past sales are any indication, popular styles tend to sell out quickly, so don’t wait around. I’ve already ordered some fall essentials, and can’t wait for my package to arrive!
Below is a selection of my favourite pieces available on Shopbop at the moment – cool ankle boots from Dorateymur, the most perfect faux shearling jacket from MOTHER, a leopard faux fur coat from LEHA, among other fun fall pieces. Shop them after the jump!

Below, I put together a few of my seasonal favourites, from fall must-haves, to quirky accessories, to cool new designer finds. Happy Shopping!
Shop the sale after the jump!
If you’ve been hoarding things in your cart on Shopbop.com, today’s the day to finally click CHECKOUT, because sale items are now additional 25% off with promo code 25EXTRA until this Friday! Which means that those timeless heels, cute summer dresses, and that designer bag you’ve been coveting are now a lot more affordable. I have quite a lengthy wish list going myself, so I’m going to have to make some tough decisions, but extra 25% off is just too tempting to pass up. I am sure most of you are already pros when it comes to online shopping, but here are a few of my handy tips for those of you in need of a little guidance. Sale season is upon us, but you don’t want to get stuck with something you don’t love just because it was on sale.
1. As you browse your favourite online retailers throughout the year, make sure to bookmark the items that you really like. Some sites like Shopbop have the Wish List option, which helps you curate all of your faves in one spot (and in your size!). This way you’re not going to buy a bunch of random things you will regret later.
2. If there’s a particular item that you simply must have, but are unsure of your sizing, visit your local brick and mortar shop to try it on. It takes a bit of effort, but this way you’ll avoid disappointment and save on return shipping fees.
3. Once or twice a week re-visit the bookmarked items and wish lists to see if any of your favourites went on sale.
4. If your must-haves are on sale and your size is still available, do a quick search to see if there are any current coupon codes you can use to save a bit more money (free shipping codes, extra discounts, etc).
5. If your size is unavailable, don’t give up! Keep the page bookmarked, and re-visit occasionally in case someone returns your size. It happens all the time!
Guys! I’ll keep it short and sweet. THE OUTNET EPIC CLEARANCE IS ON RIGHT NOW!!! You can snap up deals like $99 Alexander Wang Lovisa shoes and $57 FILLES À PAPA swimsuits! Those are awesome prices even considering the crappy Canadian dollar. I put together some of my faves below, so don’t waste any time and shop before your fave pieces sell out. I’m sorry and you’re welcome!
SHOP AFTER THE JUMP!
I’m pretty bummed that summer is almost over, but I’m definitely not sad about all the summer sales that are happening all around me. The latest, courtesy of The Outnet is pretty major – extra 40% off already heavily discounted designer merchandise. Even without the extra discount, The Outnet prices are usually pretty incredible, but with an additional 40% off – there’s no doubt about it – it’s time to get our shop on!
And while the sale is technically on mostly summery wares, I combed through the offerings to select my fave pieces that would be perfect for the upcoming fall – from the classic LBDs to the statement outerwear, there’s something on The Outnet for everyone. But don’t delay, the sale will be over in 24 hours…Ready, set, shop!
