Shopping: H&M Studio Spring 2015 Collection Lookbook

With winter getting on my last nerve, any refuge from the frigid cold is very welcome…especially when it comes in the form of a drool-worthy lookbook. So if you need to feel like spring is just around the corner, feast your eyes on this H&M Studio Spring 2015 lookbook, which features lovely prints, flowy fabrics, and the promise of sunny days and minimal layers. This time around, I also included menswear photos, because some of the pieces are just too good not to share. I’ve been known to shop the menswear section often, and this time, I’ll be hunting down that space-tastic top to add to my growing sweatshirt collection.

H&M Studio S/S 2015 will be sold worldwide from March 12th, and I wouldn’t wait to hit up the stores if I were you. The printed pajama-like suiting, tie-dye slipper sandals, and luxurious leather jackets will fly off the shelves like all those other special H&M collections usually do.

Alexander Wang for H&M Campaign and Lookbook!

So, we finally have more photos of the Alexander Wang for H&M collection, and…I am not sure. Some pieces have caught my eye, but right now I am not drooling at the sight of these campaign images. Maybe it’s because I am not a sporty girl, or maybe because of the hockey imagery? I am just not feeling this for some reason. You? H&M Studio Collection Fall 2014 Lookbook

We are almost in September, which means a couple of things – fall and fall fashions. And while I’m certainly not a fan of cold weather, I am usually all about fall collections. Last February, I posted photos from H&M Studio’s Paris Fashion Week show, and now, we finally have official lookbook images, and photos of most pieces that will be hitting the stores on September 4th.

I have my eye on a few things from this collection, including the faux fur jackets, and that gorgeous striped dress. And while I do hope that warm weather will stick around just a bit longer, living in Canada comes with a few certainties, and one of them is – winter is coming…eventually, so it’s never too early to buy a plush faux fur coat.

Shopping: H&M Spring 2014 – In Stores Now!

Several weeks ago, but what feels like FOREVER AGO, I was looking through photos of H&M’s Spring 2014 collection and making mental wishlists. I loved so many pieces from those photos that I became a little…teeny-tiny bit obsessed, which then turned into a daily visit to H&M to see if my objects of obsession have arrived. It was kind of torturous…in the #firstworldproblems kind of way.

Well, several weeks, and many frantic calls to H&M later, I am happy to announce that most of Spring 2014 collection is now in stores!!! *insert a happy jig right here* And if you aren’t as obsessed with this collection as I am, you probably just haven’t seen the photos. I mean, that lace coat – perfection, breezy white dress – drool, colourful sequined skirt – need it, matching floral top and shorts – I CAN’T EVEN! So yes, check out photos of H&M’s spring amazingness below and get yourself to a store stat, because those standout pieces won’t last long…and also, I already scooped up half of it for myself and another obsessed friend of mine. You know what they say…persistent store stalker gets the clothes.

The Complete Peter Pilotto for Target Lookbook is Here!

We are now less than a month away from February 9th launch of PETER PILOTTO for Target collection, and the lookbook is here! The printastic collection features nearly 70 covet-worthy pieces that range in price from $14.99 to $79.99 for apparel and swimwear and $16.99 to $39.99 for accessories.

The collab will mark the first time designers behind the brand, Christopher De Vos and Peter Pilotto try their hand at accessories and swimwear! Said De Vos, “The starting point was swimwear, and we were very happy that we could do it first with Target. We found it exciting to build the looks around that category. That was the idea that there are all these pieces in swimwear like rash guards and tops that you build an outfit around.” Funny enough, even though I can be a little print-crazy at times, swimwear and accessories from the collection are what caught my eye, and I can totally see those sell out in a heartbeat.

But tell me, which pieces from the PETER PILOTTO for Target collection are you coveting? Will you be in line bright and early on February 9th? If you are…prepare for MAYHEM. Judging by my Phillip Lim for Target shopping experience, I would recommend bringing a bodyguard…or two. And may the odds be ever in your favour!

Ann Taylor Spring 2014 Lookbook

Sorry for being MIA the last few days. It’s the new year and I’ve been totally and completely uninspired. Truth be told, after taking a holiday break from blogging, I realized that I actually missed being able to spend my evenings doing whatever I want without worrying about the next day’s post and having to write feverishly all night long. Instead, I’ve been cooking a lot, watching a lot of movies, reading, and spending time with my boys (le bf and my cat Pepper). It’s been so nice and refreshing! And while I had a few posts sitting in my drafts for weeks now, seeing this Ann Taylor Spring 2014 Lookbook is what finally made me get off my butt and get on my laptop.

Perhaps it’s because we are pretty much buried in snow at the moment, but getting a tiny peek at spring’s arrivals gave me hope that one day the snow will melt. It will, you guys! It has to! And when it does, I’ll be wearing a lot of these Ann Taylor pieces. Not only is the spring collection perfectly work-appropriate, but it’s also chic as hell. Grid coat? YES, PLEASE! White eyelet skirt? OMG! Zebra print everything? GIMME! And those shoes! Did you pay attention to the amazing footwear? The black pumps with animal print trim are thebombdotcom and I cannot wait to get my feet in them. Thanks, Lisa Axelson!

Anyway, if you are in a Januarut right now, hope this lookbook will help you snap out of it…or at least will give you a sliver of hope. Spring will come! Eventually…

Wishlist: Banana Republic L’Wren Scott Collection

It’s no secret that cutesy prints are my thing. So it’s no big surprise that I’m all over the new Banana Republic L’Wren Scott collaboration! Not only is this capsule collection chock-full of gorgeous holiday-ready dresses and separates (sparkly cardi, anyone?), but the whimsical prints are making my heart race. Lip-print PJs, purses, blouse, and skirt? Umm, yes, please! So pretty and so fun.

If you’ve been drooling over L’Wren Scott’s glam frocks, now is the time to stock up on a few at a fraction of the price. The collection is comprised of more than 50-pieces of apparel and accessories for women ranging in price from $20 to $240 and will be available at Banana Republic retail locations worldwide, and online at www.bananarepublic.ca on December 5th.

Wishlist: The Entire Phillip Lim x Target 2013 Collection

You know what? I love designer collabs! I know that a lot of people are on the fence about big-ass-deal designers collaborating with fast fashion retailers, but for some, this is the only way to add a “designer” piece to their wardrobe, so if collabs help everyday people look and feel good about themselves, what’s not to love? Of course, 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target isn’t the same as 3.1 Phillip Lim, but what it is – is pretty damn awesome!

From the simple, yet oh-so-chic trench coats, to the lovely floral shirt dress, to Pashli lookalike bags, women all over the world (well, wherever there’s Target…or eBay) will be able to snag a piece of Phillip Lim’s genius designs. And my-oh-my, there is a lot of genius here. While I am not particularly fond of the BOOM pieces, I am all over the office-appropriate separates (that tuxedo blazer, you guys!), classy dresses for any occasion, and sexy/sweet silk PJs…Yup, stylish pajamas are part of this collection. Amazing, right?

September 15th is almost a month away, and I honestly am already feeling the pressure. Am I going to line up early? Which Target store am I going to visit first? Which second? The plan of “attack” is crucial with a collab like this one. And seeing how Target is still a relatively new concept in Toronto (and Canada), I wonder if that means that lineups will be better or worse? With prices ranging from $20 to $3oo, there’s definitely something for everyone in this collection…and I hope that we all get to grab the pieces that we covet the most…without too much violence. Now if you just pass me that floral shirt dress, no one will get hurt!

Zara Woman Fall 2013 Ad Campaign

Even though I don’t feel like summer has even begun here in Toronto, I can’t help but start thinking about fall clothes. Yesterday, on August 1st (!!!), I even bought a pair of leather leggings and a grey sweatshirt. What’s wrong with me?!

Seeing Zara’s new Fall 2013 ad campaign certainly doesn’t help with my fall cravings. I am in love with everything in the first photo – leather jackets, cami dresses, wide-brimmed hats…I want to buy it all, and wear it exactly as pictured! The rest of the ad campaign is kind of a snoozefest (just me?), but I definitely see a few pieces here and there that I’ll be picking up as soon as the temperatures start to dip…which could be tomorrow.

Zara Woman Lookbook May 2013

Is it me, or have Zara lookbooks lost their effectiveness? After seeing these shots, I could only focus my attention on the printed/brightly-coloured pieces, losing all interest in the plain ones. Why is that? Obviously, the simpler pieces are less eye-catching, but I think if they were styled and/or shot differently, I could just as easily be attracted to them…even if they look less flashy. Perhaps it’s because most photos do not display the entire look, but bits and pieces? Also…where are the shoes?!

Having said that, Zara is still one of my go-to websites to check for cool new arrivals, and that won’t stop anytime soon…I just wish their lookbooks were more exciting. Too much to ask?
