The arrival of Gap’s Crazy Stripes collection in stores is always a cheerful reminder that the holidays are just around the corner. I have a real soft spot for all things colourful and especially crazy stripes, and this season I spotted an adorable sweater dress that I’ll be adding to my crazy stripe collection. While at the store, I also noticed that the incredibly talented Janelle Monae is fronting Gap’s 2017 Holiday Campaign, and now there’s an adorable video to go with those in-store posters. In the video Monae sings “You Got What I Need”, wearing the cutest striped shearling coat (NEED!), and surrounded by the best-dressed choir/backup singers. Watch it for yourself and check out Gap’s 2017 Crazy Stripes Collection in all its glory.

Shopping: ERDEM x H&M Collection Lookbook is Here!
The ERDEM x H&M Collection will be arriving in stores and online on November 2nd, and now that the lookbook and official collection images are finally out, we can all start strategizing! Considering that prices for this collection go up to around CAD300, I will have to be very careful…otherwise I may end up spending way too much on this one. First of all, I NEED that floral suit, sequin slip dress, and hoodie…but I am also super into that Victorian blouse, leopard print coat, bow earrings, and strappy heels…Aghh…so tough to decide!!

Shopping: Shopbop Event of the Season Sale is Here!
Even though we’ve been spoiled with an unseasonably toasty September, I can’t stop thinking about fall must-haves – perfectly cozy knits, chic but comfy boots, and coats that are both stylish and warm. Well, good news is that Shopbop’s Event of The Season Sale is here, and you can get all of those wishlist items you’ve been eyeing at an additional 20-25% off…yes, even sale items!
Get 25% off orders of $500 or more, or 20% off all other orders with promo code EOTS17! And while there are some exclusions, Shopbop’s Event of The Season Sale is the perfect time to get a discount on items that normally never go on sale. This sale is on for 3 days only, and if past sales are any indication, popular styles tend to sell out quickly, so don’t wait around. I’ve already ordered some fall essentials, and can’t wait for my package to arrive!
Below is a selection of my favourite pieces available on Shopbop at the moment – cool ankle boots from Dorateymur, the most perfect faux shearling jacket from MOTHER, a leopard faux fur coat from LEHA, among other fun fall pieces. Shop them after the jump!

ERDEM X H&M Collection Is Coming This November!
So excited right now!!! It was just officially announced that ERDEM x H&M Collection is hitting the stores on November 2nd, and I hope you are ready for line-up madness, because this collection looks LIT! Sorry, I don’t usually use words like “lit”, but I simply had to. A dreamy Baz Luhrmann teaser film was released today, and you can catch glimpses of the collection in it – the signature Erdem florals, a leopard print faux fur coat, printed silk PJs, pleats, and more. I can’t wait to see the lookbook and make my shopping wishlist…I anticipate that I’ll be adding a few party frocks (and that printed PJ set) to my closet come November.
The ERDEM x H&M collection will also mark the first time that the Canadian-born, London-based designer will be creating a menswear collection. “I’m so happy to collaborate with H&M, and to explore my work on a whole new scale including a menswear collection which I have never done before. It’s also such a thrill to work with Baz Luhrmann, on of the most important storytellers of our time”, says Erdem.
As a huge fan of Erdem Moralioglu and his designs, I am now super excited for November! Are you? Share in the comments.

CHANEL Fall 2017 Haute Couture Collection
Last week CHANEL showed their Fall 2017 Haute Couture collection, complete with a giant replica of the Eiffel Tower constructed at the Grand Palais and an abundance of celebs like Kristen Stewart, Tilda Swinton, and (my fave) Aziz Ansari in front row. The collection was inspired by Paris and Parisian women, and featured tweed suits in various shades of autumn, evening gowns shaped like the Eiffel Tower, flared and curved silhouettes, feathers, oversized clip-on earrings, and boater hats in a variety of textures.
I kept looking for an Eiffel Tower minaudiere, but it doesn’t appear to exist, instead most bags featured on the runway were quite minimalistic – tweed clutches worn to match the tweed coats. Feathers were treated as fur, trimming the hems of gowns, draping the shoulders, and wrapped around necks as chic stole-like chokers. And while I’m not holding out hope of owning any of the pieces from the runway, I do hope the boots make it into stores, because I NEED THEM IN MY LIFE. With laces and a modest height lucite block heels, these boots seem like they would go with everything, while actually being comfy. Here’s hoping.

Wishlist: CHANEL Fall 2017 Bags and Accessories
Leave it to Karl Lagerfeld to put a rocket ship in the middle of the Grand Palais and still make it about fashion. With space as inspiration, the CHANEL Fall 2017 collection certainly left me star-struck. Astronaut, planet and constellation prints, moon and star jewelry, iridescent tweeds, and even textures imitating planetary surfaces were all part of the dreamy “Ground Control” collection. And while the majority of the pieces were created in a classic palette of black, silver and white, the dreamy midnight blue tweeds studded with beads and pearls (and reminiscent of starry skies), as well as metallic green leather pieces added the exciting pops of colour to the collection.
For me, the standout accessories included the adorable rocket minaudiere, the beautiful CHANEL SPACE constellation clutch, and the star and moon brooches and necklaces. It seems that backpacks are also firmly back as part of CHANEL’s regular offering, as several styles of backpacks were shown on the runway – larger and sportier than the classic quilted leather ones of prior seasons, so perfect for interstellar exploring or the more mundane air travel. Most models rocked various versions of the square-toed glitter boots on the runway, paired with the embellished wool headbands and Brigitte Bardot-inspired hairstyles – lending the show retro 60’s vibes…and perhaps a cheeky nod to the 60’s Space Race.
Scroll through the gallery below and let me know which pieces caught your eye, and whether you loved the stellar CHANEL Fall 2017 collection as much as I did.
