Ever since 424 Fifth arrived at Hudson’s Bay, I’ve been obsessed. Ladylike silhouettes, high-quality finishes, and a touch of quirk – sign me up! Well, last month, I got to introduce Yorkdale’s latest lucky shopper Emily to the brand and show her three ways of wearing plaid this fall.
More after the jump!
Work
If you’re worried about looking too trendy, a full skirt in a plaid pattern is a classic and is sure to have staying power. The silhouette is flattering on pretty much every body shape, and paired with an edgy moto jacket on top, and a touch of leather on the shirt’s collar, this outfit goes from conservative to cool.
Weekend
Our second look was all about chic comfort. The softness of the plaid merino wool sweater lends it that cozy feel, while the light-wash stretchy jeans look put-together while keeping you comfortable. For brunch, you can add a couple of accessories to jazz up this outfit – a cool necklace should do the trick.
Date
The last thing you want to channel on a hot date is a lumberjack, but this tailored plaid blazer, paired with slinky leather pants is anything but frumpy. I love this borrowed from the boys look that still has a touch of playfulness and not to mention sexiness to it. Finish this look with a deep red lip (as shown to us at the Bobbi Brown counter at Hudson’s Bay), and you’re ready to take his breath away.
So tell us, are you mad for plaid this fall? Share in the comments.
