What an EPIC day last Thursday was! It all started with a visit to Toronto Life’s Most Stylish party held at the new Shangri-La Hotel downtown. Toasting Toronto’s most sartorially gifted, this event was one of the best I’ve attended in a long while. Greeted with life size cardboard cut-outs of the 25 Most Stylish, my friend Lisa and I made our way around the room, checking out the immaculately dressed crowd, and snacking on pretzel bread grilled cheese sandwiches, fresh oysters, and caviar. Fancy!
I also got to finally meet Andrew Coimbra, the winner of Toronto Life’s Most Stylish Reader contest (which I was also a part of). And I have to say, he was the WORST! Just kidding, he was pretty awesome, and we are now the best of friends. True(ish) story.
After mingling at Toronto Life’s fancy party, Anita and I headed out into the night…more specifically into Fashion’s Night Out! Our first stop was eLUXE’s pop-up shop, full of candy, Smythe jackets, and Rebekah Price baubles, where we did a little mugging for the cameras at the photobooth. It was FUN!
More after the jump!
After getting our sugar fix at eLUXE, off to the Burroughes we went, where Rac Boutique was holding court as the main organizer of The Bazaar – an awesome collection of Toronto’s independent shops and boutiques all under one roof. I spotted a vintage Chanel skirt suit (that I couldn’t afford), a ton of gorgeous jewelry, vintage Barbie dolls (Sinatra and Farrah Fawcett) and some cool and colorful skull candles.
Once we were finished shopping at The Bazaar, Anita, Fae, and I grabbed a special VIP shuttle provided by BMW Canada, and headed to The Shopping Soiree presented by the Toronto Fashion Incubator, TNT, and MasterCard at the Shops at Hazelton Lanes.
At MasterCard’s Stylicity Lounge, we found Jeanne Beker chatting with fans, Suzanne Rogers in a stunning Mary Katrantzou frock, checking out the scene with Glenn Dixon. Oh, and she (Suzanne) also told me that she loved my necklace. HOLY EPIC, BATMAN!
At TNT, I swooned over the lovely Miu Miu glitter flats, and tried on some Smythe blazers, before checking out Redken and Maybelline’s hair and makeup stations over at the Stylicity Lounge.
After some more photobooth action, and right before 11pm, I decided to call it a night. Though I was planning on visiting Holt Renfrew’s block party, as well as INTERMIX’s shopping event, after my 9-5 job, Toronto Life’s Most Stylish soiree, and another 4 hours at FNO, my feet were refusing to cooperate. Next year, however, I’m planning on visiting more venues…all it takes is some practice!
