When le bf and I got to Barcelona, the first place we’ve decided to pay a visit to was Park Güell – a beautiful garden complex on the hill of El Carmel, designed by Antoni Gaudi. For the ANTM addicts among you, this park would look very familiar, as one of ANTM’s runway shows was held in the haunting colonnaded pathways under the viaduct at the park.
To get to the park, we took the subway to the closest station, and then had to take a couple of escalators, as well as hike up a couple of hills to get to the entrance of the park. All in 30 degree heat. Needless to say, once we made it up, we chose to stay firmly put in the much-needed shade of the colonnaded pathways, trying to find a moment to shoot some outfit photos without any tourists in the background. As you can see, we didn’t succeed.
It was my first time at Park Güell, but it certainly won’t be my last. The park is full of unexpected gems, beautiful tiled mosaics, and other surprises all over the place. I am sure you could spend hours hiking and exploring without getting bored! Although, I’d recommend to go as early in the morning as possible, to avoid the crowds and the heat.
