CONFIRMED!!! Nordstrom to Open at Yorkdale Shopping Centre in Toronto!

HUGE NEWS, lovelies!!! I am excited to confirm that after months of rumours, it’s been finally confirmed that Nordstrom will be coming to Toronto’s Yorkdale Shopping Centre in fall 2016!!! 3 years definitely seems like forever right now, but at least it’s a done deal, and we will be getting our very own Nordstrom store at Yorkdale after all. Bring out the champagne!

“We are thrilled to bring a store to Yorkdale Shopping Centre and view this as a tremendous opportunity to serve Toronto,” said Karen McKibbin, President of Nordstrom Canada. “Yorkdale is clearly a premier fashion destination, home to an impressive mix of retailers and we’re excited to be part of the centre. Ever since we announced that we’re coming to Canada, we have been humbled by the response from customers, and we can’t wait to get to work on earning their business.”

Zara Home to Open at Yorkdale Shopping Centre in Toronto in 2013!

Shopaholics, rejoice! It’s been confirmed that Zara Home will be opening its very first Canadian store at Toronto’s Yorkdale Shopping Centre in 2013!!! It’s been a very exciting month in Inditex, and more specifically, Zara news. First, online shopping announcement, and now – the much-anticipated Zara Home is entering the Canadian market. All I can say is…WAY TO GO, YORKDALE!!! And also…HOORAY, and FINALLY! As someone who loves to shop for stylish house trinkets, I am overjoyed, and can’t wait to finally be able to dress up my home in Zara goodies.

Rewind 2012: A Year in Photos

I have to admit, so far 2013 is kicking my butt. I caught a cold on January 1st, found fraudulent activity on my debit card, and have had pretty bad migraines all week. Hopefully, from here, the only way is up.

But don’t you worry about me! 2012 was pretty sweet, so instead of focusing on the negative, I’ll just look back on some awesome moments from last year, and hope that things turn around soon.

1. The best thing that ever happened to me in 2012. Sorry if it sounds cheesy, but spending time with our friends and family in Italy, and then marrying the love of my life was a dream come true. Truly. Seeing our wedding featured in the pages of Wedding Bells was a cherry on top.

2. In February, I participated in a fun photoshoot with fellow bloggers Gracie and Elizabeth for Holt Renfrew’s blog Holts Muse. Shot by the talented photographer Adam Moco, this was a fun project to be a part of, and definitely started my year off right.

3. Had I ever dreamt that one day I’d have a byline in FLARE MAGAZINE?! Nope. But that’s exactly what happened in 2012. Granted, it was for Flare’s website, but I was simply thrilled to write my 9 Unique Ideas for Wedding Day Style story in April. Flare also showed Style Blog some love in their Flare Magazine’s Wear Canada, Blogger Style: Spring Shoes, Back to Work, and Street Style round-ups! What a year!

4. Canadian retailer JACOB asked a few Toronto bloggers to help them create a Live Chic City Guide to Toronto, and I was super excited to be a part of it! Featuring bloggers’ favourite Toronto hot spots, this guide is an awesome way to explore the city and visit some of its lesser known attractions.

Holidays 2012: 5 Sequined Pieces to Rock This Holiday Season

Tis the season to get your sparkle on! With all the festive events going on, it’s pretty much a given that sequins are all-but required as part of the usual holiday uniform. And though I prefer my sequins toned down (i.e. paired with something not-so-glam), I know that there are plenty of people out there that prefer to go all out, and why not? That’s what the holidays are for!

And this season, Yorkdale has a pretty sequined number out there for everyone! From the majorly blinged out dresses at Mendocino, to the uber-chic sequin tees at J.Crew, to the super fun sequined trousers at LOFT, you can inject your wardrobe with as much (or as little) sparkle as you’d like. Personally, I’ll be rocking my striped sequined tee from J.Crew with a pair of jeans and a pair of statement earrings to a holiday soiree this season, but I have my eye on that gorgeous hippie-like Billabong dress too.

It’s Day 6 of Style Days of Christmas Giveaways, and though I try not to play favourites, I have to say that today’s prize is pretty amazeballs! As you might know already, I am part of Yorkdale’s Style Council, and last week, I attended the shopping centre’s expansion grand opening. With amazing retailers like LOFT, Ann Taylor, Ted Baker, Kate Spade, Tesla, L’Occitane, Anthropologie, Club Monaco, Diesel and more…the newly-built wing is a sight to behold…and a shopping heaven for the fashion-obsessed.

At the grand opening, I got to visit the first ever LOFT store in Canada, where I freaked out over all the shiny baubles (perfect for the holidays), tried on some holiday frocks at Ann Taylor, dressed a mannequin at Diesel, freaked out over everything at Club Monaco’s first custom-built store in Canada (the details are incredible!), and had to be dragged kicking and screaming out of Kate Spade, because I wanted it all!

AllSaints Spitalfields is Coming to Toronto!!!

Yup, you heard it hear first! One of my fave UK retailers AllSaints Spitalfields is all set to open their first Canadian store right here in Toronto at Yorkdale Shopping Centre in Spring 2013! Ever since I laid my eyes on their leather jackets (for both men and women), I’ve been obsessed. And now that we are finally getting a store right here in Toronto, I just know that I’ll be doing some major damage, while adding some seriously cool pieces to my wardrobe.

If you are not familiar with AllSaints Spitalfields (or AllSaints for short), make sure to check out their website and peruse their fab selection. Le bf and I are both huge fans.

What I Wore: Blue

I’ve been saving this brocade peplum suit from H&M for a special occasion, and last week’s Day 1 of Toronto Fashion Week was just special enough for me to bust out my blue ~~suede~~ suit. I get that it’s H&M, and for some of you, probably not all that special, but if you’ve been reading this site long enough, you know that for me, it’s not always about the labels. Yes, I love my Chanel and Prada…but I’m also majorly addicted to H&M. So in my eyes, this suit is without a doubt something special.

I also wore my latest necklace from LOFT…which opens this month to Yorkdale Shopping Centre, and I couldn’t be more excited! One more option for awesome office separates, beautiful jewelry, and shoes? Yes, please!

What I Wore: LOFT Girl

In less than a month (on November 16th), LOFT will finally open its first ever store in Canada at Yorkdale Shopping Centre, and I couldn’t be more excited! You might’ve seen me wearing a few pieces here and there in my outfit posts, but this time I bring you not one, not two, but three LOFT pieces at once! I know…I’m crazy like that.
