Wishlist: Chanel Première Watch

Although Chanel Première watches have been around since 1987, last year was the first time I laid my eyes on these iconic timepieces. As I am nearing the big 3-0, I am much more selective about the items that I add to my wardrobe, and while I’ve always wanted to invest in a quality watch, I had my eye on Cartier’s Tank Francaise instead. Both watches have a very classic look, and I am quite confident in their quality too, so at the end of the day it probably comes down to style preference, since prices are pretty much on par. And I have to say…right now, Chanel Première is winning. I love everything about it – its quiet elegance, its shape that was inspired by Chanel No.5 perfume bottle stopper, the iconic chain bracelet…it’s pretty perfect, don’t you think?

So tell me, if you could only choose one, which one would it be? Chanel or Cartier?

Wishlist: Sophia Webster for J.Crew Collection

Last October, I got to meet the loveliest  young shoe designer – Sophia Webster. Her chic and whimsical footwear took the fashion world by a storm and I was in awe of her talent. So it came as no surprise that J.Crew decided to scoop her up for a fun collab, which was showcased during the brand’s Spring 2014 fashion presentation at NYFW.

Well, starting today, the 13-piece Sophia Webster for J.Crew collection is available online in all its graphic and colourful glory. With prices ranging from $320 to $695, these shoes may not be the cheapest around, but they are certainly worth the splurge. Any pair from this collab would spice up even the boringest of outfits, adding spring to your step.

Sarah Stevenson for Target Lookbook!

Canadian designer Sarah Stevenson is having a pretty damn good year so far! Not only did this Toronto Fashion Incubator New Labels Competition winner scored the Emerging Talent Award at the inaugural CAFA Awards, but her highly-anticipated Sarah Stevenson for Target collection will be hitting the stores in just a few weeks on March 23rd…and it’s GORGEOUS!

After seeing so many well-known designers do fast-fashion collabs (some more successful than others), it makes me really happy to finally see a Canadian designer collab that’s not only really well-executed, but  also true to the designer’s aesthetic. “As a textile and fashion designer, her collection features richly hued florals and feminine, sophisticated styles. Inspired by nature, her collection is timeless, elegant and romantic.”

Pieces from the collection will range from $24.99 to $59.99, making this one of the most affordable designer collabs ever. And at those prices, I just know that I’ll be picking up at least a few of Sarah’s beautiful pieces (floral blazer, laser-cut blouse, peplum dress, and blue laser-cut dress are my must-haves from this collection).

So what do you think of Sarah Stevenson for Target? Share in the comments! And I’ll see you at Target on March 23rd!

Wishlist: Charlotte Olympia “Elsa” Lobster Shoes

Phoebe: Hang in there, it’s gonna happen.
Ross: What? Okay, now how do you know that?
Phoebe: Because she’s your lobster.
Chandler: Oh, she’s goin’ somewhere.
Phoebe: Come on, you guys. It’s a known fact that lobsters fall in love and mate for life. You know what? You can actually see old lobster couples walkin’ around their tank, you know, holding claws.

Remember that awesome Friends episode?! Well, I’ve had a soft spot for lobsters ever since then, so it’s no surprise that seeing these Charlotte Olympia “Elsa” Lobster shoes sent my heart aflutter. How fun would it be to wear these in the summer with a crisp white shirt-dress? They are simply perfect for date nights with your own lobster, and would even work as whimsical wedding shoes too…if lobsters are your thing, that is. Either way, I’m adding yet another pair of Charlotte Olympias to my wishlist. The woman just keeps on designing things that speak to me…like cats, lobsters, bird cages, gummy bears…you name it. And I don’t mind one bit!

The Complete Peter Pilotto for Target Lookbook is Here!

We are now less than a month away from February 9th launch of PETER PILOTTO for Target collection, and the lookbook is here! The printastic collection features nearly 70 covet-worthy pieces that range in price from $14.99 to $79.99 for apparel and swimwear and $16.99 to $39.99 for accessories.

The collab will mark the first time designers behind the brand, Christopher De Vos and Peter Pilotto try their hand at accessories and swimwear! Said De Vos, “The starting point was swimwear, and we were very happy that we could do it first with Target. We found it exciting to build the looks around that category. That was the idea that there are all these pieces in swimwear like rash guards and tops that you build an outfit around.” Funny enough, even though I can be a little print-crazy at times, swimwear and accessories from the collection are what caught my eye, and I can totally see those sell out in a heartbeat.

But tell me, which pieces from the PETER PILOTTO for Target collection are you coveting? Will you be in line bright and early on February 9th? If you are…prepare for MAYHEM. Judging by my Phillip Lim for Target shopping experience, I would recommend bringing a bodyguard…or two. And may the odds be ever in your favour!

Peter Pilotto for Target Collection Sneak Peek!

Back in September I wrote about the upcoming PETER PILOTTO for Target collaboration, launching on February 9th, 2014…and now, we have the first official look at the highly-anticipated collection. And OMG…it’s amazing! If you’re a print lover like me, I can imagine that you’re already obsessing over every detail of that photo above. I mean, that gorgeous romper is only $50, and the printed skirt is $35! That’s bananas!

Here’s how ELLE described this photo: “Designers Pilotto and De Vos, center, in their own clothing, with models wearing, from left: Stertch-nylon swim top, $25, cotton, nylon, and spandex skirt, $35, cotton and nylon slip-on sneakers (shown on all three girls), $30 a pair, spandex-blend romper, $50, spandex-blend racer-back tank, $25, skirt, $35, all PETER PILOTTO FOR TARGET, at select Target stores nationwide starting in February, call 800-800-8800 or visit target.com.”

And while I may or may not have promised myself to avoid designer collabs, I think this ban will have to be lifted for this one. I am only human, and getting a piece of Peter Pilotto for $25 sounds like something that I just won’t be able to resist. What about you? Are you excited about this one? Share in the comments!

Wishlist: Louis Vuitton Vivienne LV Handbag

It’s been a while since I’ve coveted a Louis Vuitton handbag, but the new Louis Vuitton Parnasséa collection has just changed that. The Vivienne LV bag in partucular is so perfectly simple and chic – it’s an instant classic. With two removable straps, a stunning golden LV closure, and a perfect not-too-big-not-too-small size,  it was love at first sight…until I saw the price tag that is. At $5,000.00, Vivienne LV is certainly not the most affordable bag out there, so I think it’ll just have to stay on that wishlist for a little while longer.

Wishlist: VAWK for eBay Holiday Collection by Sunny Fong

Christmas will be coming early this year, thanks to Canadian designer Sunny Fong and his latest limited-edition VAWK for eBay Holiday Collection that will be available from December 2nd to 8th.

Consisting of 9 festive pieces, Fong’s second eBay collection is even better than the first, and I have no doubt that it’ll sell in a heartbeat…so if you really like something, do not wait! The Manta Dress from the first collection is back, but it’s been glamified with sparkly sequins – perfect for the holiday parties. Leather studs adorn the new tie, cuff, and collar pieces, and fox fur was added to the chic Manta Caplet. There are also silk scarves and a pocket square finished with beautiful custom-designed prints.

One very notable addition (and my favourite piece) this season is the one-of-a-kind White Manta Gown, made out of thick stretchy ponte fabric, with strategically placed sexy (but classy) cutouts with sheer netting, and one that will work for a wide range of sizes (size 2 to size 8 to be specific). The fit, the cut, the fabric, and the design are all stellar, and the crazy thing is – the bidding price for this piece will start at only $0.99, with proceeds from the sale going to Kids Help Phone. It’s simply perfect for an elegant special occasion, and I can even see this as a laid back wedding gown too – pretty, versatile, and for a good cause? I think you may just have to fight me for it.

Isabel Marant Pour H&M Collection Preview

It’s so close, I can almost taste it! Isabel Marant Pour H&M collection will hit the stores worldwide on November 14th, and last night, I got the chance to preview the collection, touch the pieces I’ve been coveting, and make my personal shopping list. I have to say that I was sincerely hoping to walk away hating everything (for my wallet’s sake), but, alas…that did not happen. Instead, I left the preview wanting and aching to get my paws on at least a dozen of oh-so-Marant pieces. But since I am a responsible adult, my current must-have list includes a pair of black leather pants, black tuxedo jacket, and a cozy shaggy sweater – that’s it! Those are the only pieces that I will allow myself to buy…but ask me again on November 14th, and my answer may (or may not) change.

Are you getting excited yet? Share your must-have list in the comments!
