COS is Coming to the US! Is Canada Next?

H&M’s pricier, higher-end sister brand COS (Collection of Style) is confirmed to be opening their first US store in Spring 2014 in New York’s SoHo neighborhood. Let me repeat that…COS is coming to the US!!!!!!!!

When I first heard the news, I have to admit, I freaked out a little. It’s not like I need more places to spend my money – I do pretty well at the ones we already have, thankyouverymuch - BUT…it’s COS, you guys! Finally! If you aren’t familiar with COS, then please click here right now and come back after you’re done browsing. Lovely basics with a twist that make me want to pull out my credit card and hand it over forever. Amazing, right? And now (in 2014), we’ll have a store just a quick skip and a hop away from Toronto…and apparently e-commerce as well. Those lucky Americans, they get everything before we do. *insert bitchy resting face* Buuuut…the good thing is…COS is coming to the US, which must mean that a Canadian launch isn’t that far. Right? I mean, it only makes sense!

So now…we wait…and in the meantime…roadtrip to NYC, anyone?

Wishlist: Mackage Fall 2013 Collection

During last season’s WMCFW one of my absolute fave collections was Mackage Fall 2013. Already well-known for their outerwear, the brand’s Fall 2013 collection was particularly strong, featuring modern silhouettes, flattering cuts, and great fabrics. Checkered moto jackets, leather lapels and sleeves, fur collars – it was so well-executed, I found myself coveting every single coat on the runway. But outerwear wasn’t the only thing that got us all drooling, for fall, Mackage finally introduced the brand’s first collection of leather handbags. Beautifully-made, with creative touches like arrow closures and mixed leather finishes, these bags weren’t good, they were amazing. I remember thinking “Can these bags be in stores without having to face yet another fall?”

Well, although my wishful thinking couldn’t stop the summer from ending, the good thing is…Mackage Fall 2013 collection is now in stores! On my personal wishlist are the Shanty checkered moto jacket, and Titan Large Blue Cross-body Bag, but I truly love so many other pieces, that picking favourites wasn’t an easy task.

What about you? How do you like Mackage Fall 2013 collection? Are you into their bags? Share your faves in the comments.

Wishlist: Chanel Fall 2013 Bags…All of Them!

It’s Friday, and I am in the mood for some daydreaming. Ever since I laid eyes on Chanel’s Fall 2013 collection, I’ve been obsessed with the new selection of bags. The Lego clutch is still there, but is more sophisticated than its green and red Spring 2013 predecessors, and that Boy Chanel bag with chains? That’s what dreams are made of, you guys! It’s just perfect! If you haven’t seen this season’s selection, you MUST check it out. This is the first time in a long while that I am coveting SO MANY of Chanel’s new styles and not just the classics.

Now, who wants to buy a lotto ticket with me? Anyone?

Isabel Marant for H&M Lookbook and Entire Collection!

Just days after I posted the first Isabel Marant for H&M sneak peek, the entire lookbook and collection images hit the web! How’s that for timing? First up – the lookbook. I was so excited by Marant’s choice of models for this one! Alek Wek, Milla Jovovich, Constance Jablonski, Lou Doillon…love, love, love! Styled perfectly, looking smashing! And the pieces? They exceeded my expectations. First of all, I NEED Alek’s entire look, along the white lace top, white leather (?) side-tie pants, gold-printed dress, and a couple of men’s cardigans. Isabel Marant for H&M, I’m coming for you!

What about you??? Are you excited about this collection? Share your thoughts in the comments.

Isabel Marant for H&M Sneak Peek!

The highly-anticipated Isabel Marant for H&M collection is set to hit the stores on November 14th, which, if you think about it is VERY soon! So when I saw the sneak peek of the collection, published in Harper’s Bazaar, I got really excited! While I was expecting to see a lot of tribal pieces, the sneak peek proved that the collaboration will be much more than that!

Earlier this year, H&M posted 2 other sneak peeks of the collab, a dress (and possibly boots) from the women’s collection, and a sweater from men’s. Both very distinctly Marant. The Harper’s Bazaar article shared that the collab will also include tees, sweats and tribal-chic jackets similar to what the designer showed in Spring 2010, embroidered dresses similar to Fall 2012 collection, and oversized and cropped  “shaggy sweaters” made of loops of wool yarn. “We did a kind of knitted ‘fur’ in wool, which is super cool,” Marant said.

And if you were worried about the quality aspect, don’t! Here’s what Isabel Marant had to say about the collaboration: “It was clear from the beginning that we didn’t want to just do a cheap version of Isabel Marant, so we worked around keeping a really high level of quality in the fabrics and the manufacturing, doing things by hand.” Sounds promising to me!

PETER PILOTTO for Target Spring 2014 Collaboration Announced!

While most of us are still recovering from the battle traumas of Phillip Lim for Target collection launch, Target goes and announces another INCREDIBLE collab. This time with PETER PILOTTO!

“Set to launch on Feb. 9, 2014, at most Target stores in the U.S. and Canada, PETER PILOTTO for Target will feature women’s apparel, accessories and swimwear, with most items less than $60.

Additionally, Target is partnering with online luxury retailer Net-a-Porter to offer international fans of PETER PILOTTO a curated assortment of the limited-edition collection.

Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos are the designers behind PETER PILOTTO. The two met while studying at Antwerp’s prestigious Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Belgium and together created one of London’s most recognized and coveted fashion brands. Celebrated for their innovative, complex and colourful prints, the designers explore and question conventional notions of prints, textiles, sculptural shapes and draping. PETER PILOTTO for Target exemplifies the designers’ distinct aesthetic, combining hyper-real digital prints in striking blues and greens and warm reds and oranges. The assortment features nearly 70 items and ranges in price from $14.99 to $79.99 for apparel and swimwear and $16.99 to $39.99 for accessories. Standout pieces include chic dresses, flattering skirts and versatile swimwear that can be mixed-and-matched.”

A celeb favourite, PETER PILOTTO is known for eye-catching prints and daring cuts, and I can’t describe the joy I’m feeling right now! Finger crossed that PETER PILOTTO for Target Spring 2014 collection is as amazing in real life as it is in my head.

Wishlist: Mulberry Willow Tote

A couple of weeks ago, the new Mulberry boutique opened its doors at Yorkdale Shopping Centre, and I could not wait to stop by and check out the store. When I finally made it there, I was smitten. The boutique feels spacious, but intimate too, and the selection of bags is impressive. If you live in Toronto and you still haven’t been…why not?! The boutique is full of beautiful, well-made bags, clothes, and accessories, and is a must-visit at Yorkdale.

And though I loved a lot of things at Mulberry on my visit, one thing that truly captivated my full attention was the customizable Willow tote. With a zip-off clutch, and a great selection of colours and textures, Willow is truly a perfect bag for a city girl – large enough for all of the essentials, and versatile enough for special occasions. My fave Willow combo can be seen in the photo above…so ladylike, so special, and SO expensive. Well, considering that it’s a very limited-edition bag, it’s not THAT expensive, but sadly for me, I will have to keep dreaming about this one for now.

Wishlist: Converse x Hudson’s Bay Company Jack Purcell Fall 2013 Collection

The cat is finally out of the bag! Hudson’s Bay Company joined forces with Converse to create one of the coolest pieces of Canadiana I’ve ever seen…actually, three of them! Ever since I laid my eyes on these beauties during The Bay’s Holiday 2013 preview, I have been dying to share the news with you, and now I finally can!

“Available in the Converse unisex Jack Purcell, Duck Boot and women’s Helen silhouettes, each style embodies the Hudson’s Bay Company wool point blanket stripes, features threaded stitching and antique brass eyelets, and includes the Jack Purcell and Hudson’s Bay logos on the foot bed. These silhouettes also carry an official “Seal of Quality” maintaining the authenticity of Hudson’s Bay Company. Additionally, the Jack Purcell Duck features a leather collar and heel stay, as well as embroidery on the tongue of the shoe, generating an elevated style that merges these two iconic worlds.”

The Converse Hudson’s Bay Company Jack Purcell collection will be available for purchase exclusively at Hudson’s Bay Stores, with prices ranging from $120 to $140 starting September 1, 2013. I don’t know about you, but I’ll be getting up extra early that day to snag a pair for myself and for le bf too!

Wishlist: The Entire Phillip Lim x Target 2013 Collection

You know what? I love designer collabs! I know that a lot of people are on the fence about big-ass-deal designers collaborating with fast fashion retailers, but for some, this is the only way to add a “designer” piece to their wardrobe, so if collabs help everyday people look and feel good about themselves, what’s not to love? Of course, 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target isn’t the same as 3.1 Phillip Lim, but what it is – is pretty damn awesome!

From the simple, yet oh-so-chic trench coats, to the lovely floral shirt dress, to Pashli lookalike bags, women all over the world (well, wherever there’s Target…or eBay) will be able to snag a piece of Phillip Lim’s genius designs. And my-oh-my, there is a lot of genius here. While I am not particularly fond of the BOOM pieces, I am all over the office-appropriate separates (that tuxedo blazer, you guys!), classy dresses for any occasion, and sexy/sweet silk PJs…Yup, stylish pajamas are part of this collection. Amazing, right?

September 15th is almost a month away, and I honestly am already feeling the pressure. Am I going to line up early? Which Target store am I going to visit first? Which second? The plan of “attack” is crucial with a collab like this one. And seeing how Target is still a relatively new concept in Toronto (and Canada), I wonder if that means that lineups will be better or worse? With prices ranging from $20 to $3oo, there’s definitely something for everyone in this collection…and I hope that we all get to grab the pieces that we covet the most…without too much violence. Now if you just pass me that floral shirt dress, no one will get hurt!

Style Fille: Diane Kruger and a Chanel LEGO Clutch

Oh, Diane…how I love your style so! This time, I am a little biased, because I own the exact same shirt from Comme Des Garcons Play, so this obviously means that DIANE KRUGER AND I ARE BFFS! And while I already have the tee, I WISH I owned the same Chanel LEGO clutch, because it is amazing, and I will be dreaming about it for days, while lamenting the fact that I will never be able to afford it. Le sigh. Maybe my new BFF will let me borrow hers one of these days? A girl can dream.
