What I Wore: Cousin Itt

I adore my new Old Navy coat! Have been wanting something “camel” for a while now, and now, thanks to Old Navy Canada, I got it! Have you checked out their coat section lately? I believe most coats are 30% off in stores right now, and the variety is pretty amazing. This one is lightweight, with a removable faux-fur collar, and also comes in black. Most people that have seen it, cannot believe that it’s from Old Navy! But it is, and I love it!

Same day I got the coat, I stopped by H&M and picked up this hat, and circle scarf (at children’s department). I was so happy with my hat purchase, until I took some photos in it. As soon as my mom saw the photos, she could not stop laughing…the scarf + the hat + sunglasses + the hair = Cousin Itt in her mind. Well, I don’t mind if it brings uncontrollable laughter a smile to her face. To me, this coat and this hat scream 70s. Perhaps, I’ll re-think the scarf and the sunglasses next time around.

And speaking of Cousin Itt…have you figured out what to wear for Halloween? I think, I’m going to shop my closet for a costume this year. I can’t stand the sight of those polyester (Sexy Nurse/Cop/Schoolgirl) costumes. Any fun ideas?

What I Wore: Coat – Old Navy (courtesy of Old Navy); Top – Club Monaco; Pants – Forever21; Hat, Scarf – H&M; Bag – Prada; Shoes – Winners; Sunglasses – Ray Ban

What I Wore: Happy Thanksgiving!

I really love this time of the year – when the leaves are golden and red, the air is sweet, and it’s still warm enough to wear shoes with open toes, yet cool enough for cozy sweaters, blazers, and scarves. I do, of course, love summer the best, but in between the heat and the deep freeze, this time right around Thanksgiving is amazing in Toronto.

Wish you all a lovely and laughter-filled Thanksgiving with your closest friends and family. Hope you’re enjoying the superb weather we’ve been having lately. Happy Gobble Gobble Day to you and yours!

What I Wore: So Dries

I don’t usually copy off the runway looks, but in this instance, I just had to! The jacket I’m wearing was an absolute steal and a gem, found in the depths of second-hand re-seller Buffalo Exchange in Houston. I bought it back in January for $15! The beading is terrific and it’s still in fantastic condition! It is, of course, a very “old lady-ish” item, but I love it nonetheless!

So when I saw photos from Dries Van Noten Spring 2010 show, I knew I had to recreate the look below! Well, sans the sunglasses and a necklace – I had to look somewhat appropriate for work – I do still have a day job! And I can say that after the last outing,  my Van Noten doppelganger will definitely be getting more use!

PS. Sorry for the bitchface in the last photo…it’s the only full-length pic, so I had to include it.

I Wore: Jacket – Buffalo Exchange Vintage; Top – Winners; Pants – Zara; Belt – H&M; Shoes – Nine West; Backpack, Earrings - Chanel

What I Wore: Miami Vice

I cannot say this enough – I love sunny days! Even on weekdays, when I am cooped up indoors for the majority of the day, it still puts a smile on my face! Last Friday, as I walked outside to grab lunch with a couple of friends at TD Towers, the streets were packed with pedestrians, the flowers were in full bloom, and the sun was shining brightly. There’s absolutely nothing that could make me grumpy or sad on days like that. Let the sunshine in!

This outfit reminds me of Miami Vice because of the t-shirt, the white jeans, and the big-shouldered blazer – don’t I look like a female version of Don Johnson? Especially in my new H&M leopard print sunglasses! Love them so much! Oh, and almost forgot…did you spot my new baby? I think it’s one of those forever loves…I can just feel it! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend…and Happy Monday!

What I’m Wearing: Orange You Glad?

Don’t usually feel this way, but I felt decidedly girlie the other day. Hence the floral skirt, pearl earrings, and bow necklace. I love playing dress-up in my closet once in a while. It used to be way more often (like a few times a day), but now…with all work and no play, dress-up takes a back seat. Which is kinda sad.

Oh, and I bought yet another Breton-striped shirt. I think this is officially a full-blown obsession…I have over 10 very similar striped tops (cropped, tank, tee, long sleeve, long sleeve dress, 3/4 sleeve, and a few others)…and I still have an eye on one more at H&M. Do I need an intervention?

I’m Wearing: Top, Rings, Belt, Tights - H&M; Skirt, Necklace – Forever 21; Cardigan – Zara; Purse – Marc Jacobs; Shoes – Winners

What I’m Wearing: Black and White and Words All Over

I don’t think I was supposed to wear this dress to work, but thanks to the lenient office environment, I was able to pull it off without raising too many eyebrows. Have been very much into the monochromatic looks lately. Greys, whites, blacks are my friends…Maybe it’s the Toronto weather? Spring collections bring a promise of some color and fun shapes…and much needed warmth. Just in case you were wondering, I wore boots with the dress and leggings originally, but switched to pumps indoors. I am not crazy enough to walk around boots-less in the winter!

I’m Wearing: Dress – H&M; Shoes – Nine West; Blazer – Zara; Purse – Louis Vuitton; Necklace – Forever 21; Gloves – Winners; Leggings – TNA

Shopping: Boot Hunting

winners boots

It’s quite depressing to think that fall is just around the corner, especially considering that here in Toronto the summer has not even started. But what is exciting about the new season is new clothes! The other day, two pairs of ankle booties caught my eye at H&M. Both very simple, yet the zipper detailing on one and great fit of the other left me wanting new fall boots. And with my European vacation behind me, and NYC and Houston trips coming up, I am left on a pretty tight budget, so the shoes I buy must not only be cute, but also affordable! Above, I threw in a pic of the cool super high-heeled peep toe boots from Winners, and Forever21 boots below. Can you help me decide?
