What I’m Wearing: Strangers’ Wedding (Follow Up)

IMG_2925

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote about going to “strangers’ wedding”, and my dilemma over what to wear on their big day. So, this is the final result…After much delibiration, I guess I settled on the classic boring look, choosing simple black pumps to go with my lacy dress to attend Nolan and Natasha’s (no longer strangers) fantabulous wedding. No crazy accessories or extravagant hair-dos either. Oh well, I guess sometimes, the simpler – the better! What about you? Do you go for a more daring look when attending big events?

One more pic after the jump!

Organic Style: Weddings

It’s summertime (even if it doesn’t feel like it), and summertime means summer weddings! And what does it mean to be invited to a wedding? That’s right! Outfit searching!

The wedding that I attended this past Saturday was beautiful! Gorgeous bride, handsome groom, lotsa food, dancing, performances, tearful speeches, and many well dressed people! Like I mean, adorable dresses! It was nice to see that a wedding outfit does not have to equal predictable or stuffy, or regal (unless you’re into it), especially for young girls like me (no eye rolling, please!). So today, I’d like to introduce you to these 4 stylish girls in awesome, cute, youthful, modern and not at all stuffy dresses that they wore to Mr. and Mrs. Pante’s reception.

First up is Janice. The moment I saw her ruffled off the shoulder, cut-out dress in the amazing silver grey color, I loved it! It’s not your typical wedding-wear, but that’s what’s so great about it! Modern cut, lotsa leg, gorgeous girl!

Tamara and I sat at the same table, and I couldn’t stop staring at her amazing jewelry! Turquoise is my weakness! Love her graphic gown. I think the pattern saves the dress from looking overly formal, and in my humble opinion, black + white + turquoise = amazingness!

The beautiful ring on Tamara’s hand is from Spain! Me encanta!

My next “victim” is Reena. What really caught my eye in her outfit is the simplicity of both color and cut. To me that’s the beauty of it. I love the sheen of her dress, and the way she paired it with gladiator sandals. Again, very youthful. Very fab!

And last, but not least is Leah. My favorite part about her dress are the sequins. So much fun! And since the picture isn’t that good, you should know that the sequins go along the neckline, the sides of the dress, and at the hem. To me, they make the otherwise boring-ish dress look modern and…yeah, fun! After seeing her dress, I kinda regretted not wearing my sequined bolero over my lacey dress. Oh well…next time! Great dress, Leah!

What I’m Wearing: Strangers’ Wedding

No, I’m not planning to crash someone’s wedding, although that’s on my list of “before 30” to-dos. The wedding I’m planning to attend this Saturday is of two people that I had never met (friends of the b/f), hence the “strangers” bit. And since I’m not quite sure how dressy the event will be, I’m thinking something classic and safe. I don’t want to stand out, nor look overly sexy. The plan is to wear a black lace overlay tube dress with beige/nude lining underneath. My inspiration for the outfit will be Erin Wasson at Teen Vogue event earlier in the year (minus the showing panties), and A/W 2009 Balmain/Dior runway shows.
