What I Wore: Quebec City Part 2

After a day of shopping and eating in Quebec City, and falling on the bed half-conscious and half-incapacitated, getting ready to go out in the evening was a bit of a challenge, but I think we did ok. I finally got to wear my new H&M Fashion Against AIDS Missoni-inspired tank top dress. It’s definitely on a shorter side, and used to be quite see-through, before I’d attached my old white t-shirt as lining at the bottom, but I simply loved the color and the pattern of this tank! Surely, I’ll get lots and lots of use out of it on steamy summer nights, running barefoot on the beach…and did I mention that it cost me $15?!

Though I do question how lucky this particular dress is, because after getting a table at Savini on Grande Allée, some lady promptly managed to spill my drink all over my dress. Thankfully, the fabric didn’t stain and dried pretty fast (except for the t-shirt lining part). I didn’t let this little mishap ruin our night, and we ended up having an incredibly delicious meal, before heading to the hotel to get some rest for the next day.

What I Wore: Tank Dress, Men’s Bracelet, Belt, Nail Polish - H&M; Blazer – Zara; Turquoise Bracelet – Urban Outfitters; Bangles – Forever21; Necklace – Marc by Marc Jacobs; Backpack – Chanel; Shoes – Oscar by Oscar de la Renta

What I Wore: Quebec City Part 1

Despite some mishaps and problematic planning, my birthday extravaganza (coined by le boyfriend) away from my friends for the first time, was a success. After a long-ish work-week, I was whisked away on a Porter plane to the faraway land of castles, small winding streets, horse carriages, and fab food – Quebec City.

Almost immediately after stepping foot into Old Quebec, I found myself staring at a Longchamp bag I’ve wanted for a while, yet have never been able to find (even in Paris…three times!). Well, as luck had it, the store did carry the version I’ve been lusting after, and I snatched it up without hesitation. Good start to the trip, right?

I also got to wear my H&M Fashion Against AIDS dress for the first time. Was supposed to wear it to Al’s birthday BBQ, but since we ended up missing it, I wore it in Quebec instead…to le boyfriend’s disappointment (he hates any type of leopard print).

The rest of the day was spent eating (Le Lapin Sauté), walking around and sightseeing, and drinking Blanche De Chambly, which is le boyfriend’s favoritest beer. The weather, thankfully, was quite perfect for a day of discovering Quebec city’s markets, streets, and patios. And since this was my first time in the city, my poor feet did not get much rest at all. But I guess, this is good practice for our next trip to Europe.

What I Wore: Dress, Turquoise Ring, Nail Polish, Men’s Bracelet – H&M; Blazer – Zara; Turquoise Bracelet, Shoes – Urban Outfitters; Belt – Forever 21; Sunglasses – Ray Ban; Backpack – Chanel

What I Wore: Sunday, I’m In Love

Back when I used to work 50-60 hours per week, just a thought of going to work on Mondays ruined my entire Sundays, and made me despise them all together. Now that I love like my job, going to work is no longer a daunting task, which makes Sundays that much more enjoyable.

Sunday brunch in particular, is one of those things that I totally cannot live without. And discovering new brunch places has become a hobby of sorts for le boyfriend and I. A hobby and a competition to boot. Last Sunday, I wanted to surprise him with a totally new and undiscovered brunch place (post coming soon), but apparently, he had suggested that same place months ago, it’s just that we’d never gotten around to checking it out.

But then again, I guess it doesn’t matter who wins the brunch game, because in the end, both of us get to enjoy the yummy goodness of pancakes, eggs, and fresh hot coffee on a sunny Sunday afternoon, lazily lounging in the sun, and being in love.

What I Wore: I Didn’t Steal Your Boyfriend…Jeans

Adore these new jeans…le boyfriend – not so much. I do, however, think that he feels slightly relieved that for now, my boyfriend-dressing will slow down just a tad, and I won’t be stealing his jeans any time soon. But I, I just love my new jeans…so comfy, and not at all tight. How it should be. I also love my new Forever 21 crop top. Except, I have to tone up that belly before venturing out in public with my belly button showing. Strongbody class, here I go.

I Wore: Boyfriend Jeans – Urban Outfitters; Crop Top, Cardigan – Forever21; Bag – Zara; Boots, Belt – Aldo

Wishlist: Floral Shorts

Ahh, spring! Well, not in Toronto. Not yet. But definitely, definitely in stores all over the place! Am drooling over so many pieces of clothing/accessories, that I think I’ll need another job just to be able to afford everything. Le sigh.

Well, enough of sadness. Because who could ever feel sad if they had these babies? I don’t know if it’s the floral print, or the fullness of these shorts, but the moment I saw these Forever 21 shorts, I could not stop thinking about them. And since they aren’t yet available for purchase (not online, at least), I am doomed to keep drooling.

My friend Jo also pointed me to this other pair of floral shorts from Urban Outfitters. These are quite cute as well. Perhaps a tad too long for my taste (I’m no hoochie, but I do like to show off my legs in the summer), but I’ll consider them if the Forever 21 pair doesn’t quite pan out.

What do you think about these? Fun or fugly?

What I’m Wearing: Check Yourself

Ok, so my love for all things striped is still going on…and on…and on. Went to Yorkdale the other day, and almost bought two more striped things (a dress and a top). When will this madness stop? But the truth of the matter is…I feel comfortable and chic wearing Breton stripes…and that’s that. Stole my mom’s Ralph Lauren scarf…it is just soo comfy and warm! She won’t let me keep it, so I have to “borrow” it occasionally when she doesn’t wear it. Still loving my Aldo boots. Yeah, the heels are super high, but these are still the comfiest boots I own.

Oh, and I am also wearing my new Urban Outfitters “Texas” necklace!!! First spotted it at Buffalo’s Walden Galleria, regretted not buying it…tried to find it in Houston (without much luck), and finally got my paws on it in Toronto! You can’t see it here…but I’ll post a pic soon! Love it so much!

Holidays 2009: Cute Gift Ideas

gift ideas

I know I’ve been MIA lately, and it’s prime blogging season, what with the shopping frenzy, amazing pre-fall collections, and sales happening practically everywhere! But since blogging is not my main job, and is more of a hobby or a passion, other passions of mine took center stage as of late. Things such as baking and gluttonous devouring of cookies, lusting over Chanel purses and other goodies while Christmas shopping,  slothing on the couch wrapped in a blanket watching my favorite holiday movies…What’s that you say? Those are sins, not passions? Tomayto-Tomahto. So with that in mind, posting will continue at this slowed down eggnoggy rate until the holidays are behind our expanded behinds (I am not the only one eating all those sugar cookies, am I?).

I’m sure most of you are still smack dab in the middle of Christmas shopping, and if you haven’t checked out Urban Outfitters and www.FredFlare.com, then you really should! So many cute, weird, quirky items! From adorable earrings to Russian Doll measuring cups – you can find a perfect gift or a stocking stuffer for that special person on your list! Happy Shopping, lovelies!

Shoulder to Cry On

urban outfitters

Or not? Those babies are so sharp, that no one in their right mind would ever want to lean on one of those! So, I’ll call it body armour! For when I’m feeling particularly fierce and unapologetic, this dress would convey everything that I refuse to say. Almost like performance art, right? Or not.

Ok, the reason this might not make much sense is because it’s Monday and I had to work on Saturday, and I didn’t get much rest this weekend, so there. No rest for the wicked. Never any rest. At least my year-end is finished, and I don’t have much to dread in the coming months. Hooray. Damn, forgot about Christmas shopping. Nevermind then.

deena and ozzy cage heel
I am looking for a transitional pair of black heels. Something versatile that I could wear with my skinny jeans, but also to the office, during those early Fall days. But also, something different…I don’t want yet another pair of peep toe pumps (I got a bajillion already!)

So far I love the Deena and Ozzy line at Urban Outfitters! Inexpensive and so very chic! These are my faves. Now, if only I could narrow it down to one pair!
