Peacock Parade Launch Party at Thompson Hotel

Last week, Al and I made our way to Thompson Hotel to celebrate the launch of the newest online luxury retailer – Peacock Parade. The website, founded by two Canadian gals, promises to deliver luxury labels at insider prices (or up to 70% off retail), and will include pieces from select Canadian designers. Like many other ”sample sale” websites, Peacock Parade is a membership-based store. All you need to do is request free membership, and once your request is granted, you’ll get to browse and shop some amazing deals…deals that won’t cost you an arm and a leg to ship to Canada. I can certainly get used to that!

The party itself was a pleasant surprise, as Thompson’s roof lounge (with its sweeping vistas of Toronto) is a perfect venue for any event. We mingled with the lovely jewelry/handbag designer Jenny Bird, who is the newest face of YSL Beaute Canada, and whose gorgeous designs will soon be available at Peacock Parade. I also got to meet the Ukranian-born, Toronto-based designer Katya Revenko of Desperately Different in her very own custom-designed golden jumpsuit (that she shared was originally a pair of pants).

We loved being a part of Peacock Parade launch, and truly cannot wait to see what’s in store for this online retailer.
