Shopping: Mango Fall 2011

Last week, Mango Yorkdale held a shopping bash for its loyal customers, offering special discounts, refreshments, and a chance to shop Blogger Picks. Lovely Marta from With Love Gabrielle and yours truly, were asked to come into the store and select our favorite pieces from Mango’s fall collection, to be displayed as Blogger Picks…and I was only too happy to participate!

I had such a great time selecting Style Blog’s Blogger Picks…I probably went a bit overboard with the number of items chosen. Mango’s fall collection is so chock-full of awesome must-haves, that I couldn’t have had an easier task! Some of my faves included a lovely chunky knit sweater, a pair of very on-trend python jeans, leopard print sandals (which would look amazing with opaque tights), black blazer with leather sleeves, and lots more!

If you haven’t had a peek at the store’s Fall 2011 offerings, make sure to stop by soon…you won’t be able to walk away empty-handed.

What I Wore: The Wall

Don’t you just love it when you stumble upon something by accident, and it ends up being exactly what you were looking for? Last weekend, while “helping” le boyfriend pick up his brand new table, I spotted an awesome wall of graffiti – and of course, had to have my pictures taken in front of it!

If you’ve been paying attention to Fall 2011 runway shows, you might’ve noticed an abundance of spots and dots all over the place. For that reason, I dug out some of my dotted H&M tights and rocked them till I had frostbite on my butt. Ok, maybe not frostbite…but thin tights + cold weather does not a good combination make. Oh, the things we do for fashion!

So, do you have a favorite Fall 2011 trend yet? Or are you too busy planning out your spring wardrobe to even care about fall? Let me know in the comments!

I Wore: Top – Mango, Skirt, Earrings - Forever21; Tights, Sunglasses – H&M; Thigh-highs – American Apparel; Clutch – Winners; Boots – Proenza Schouler (The Room); Ring – Max and Chloe

Wishlist: White Lace Dress

I have been looking for one for ages! Not just any old white dress. I have strict requirements, you see. As in the following…I like the sleeves of this dress Becki Newton is wearing. LOVE the sleeves actually. I also love the type of lace this dress is made of – larger pattern of flowers that lets a bit of skin to peek through. My perfect dress is on the shorter side, but not too short that I can’t bend over. It doesn’t have a fringe bottom like Becki’s dress, but probably has a bit of untamed and unhemmed lace instead. My perfect white dress will probably have a square or scoop neck, and the lining will be silk, making it ever-so-comfortable for rolling around the lush green meadows on a hot Sunday afternoon.

Have been searching forever for that perfect boho white lace dress, but so far, I’ve had to settle with a few not-so-worthy replacements that make me want the real deal that much more. Some spend their entire lives trying to find a perfect man…well, to me, the search for that perfect dress is just as complicated.

ScarJo for Mango SS2010

New pics of Scarlett Johansson landed in my inbox this morning, and I am not disappointed with this campaign. Not in the very least. Granted, we only get to see two looks from the collection so far, but the Celine-like trench-dress alone is totally worth a Mango trip! Thoughts?

Daisy Lowe for Mango

mango-fall-winter-09-01-500x689

Mango’s Fall/Winter catalogue is out! I really like these shots. Daisy Lowe is a bit of an unexpected choice, but it works. The girl is a fashionista and a gorgeous one at that, so that obviously helps! Kinda makes me want to go and check out Mango now.

Love the studded dress! Would be perfect for NYE!

Scarlett For Mango

scarlettmango

I don’t know how I feel about Scarlett Johansson replacing Penelope Cruz as the new face of Mango for the Autumn/Winter 09 campaign. I actually really like them both as actresses, but style-wise…Scarlett does not dress well. She does have an occasional hit, but more often than not, I find that she dresses rather…frumpy. And while Pene and her sister Monica actually had a say in what went into the collection, looks like Scarlett is not lending her creativity to this project, only her “image”. Needless to say, am very curious to see how it turns out!
