So, the ridiculous just keeps on giving this week. If you still haven’t gotten a gift for your loved one, this trash bag Louis Vuitton “Raindrop Besace” would make a perfect gift! And if you thought the Chanel “Easter Basket” purse was a tad overpriced, this one will only set you back a “measly” $1960.
Seriously, do designers just think that if they release anything as limited edition, people will be dumb enough to buy it? And come on…$1960 for a plastic bag? No, thanks. Which celeb will be the first to wear this? I say…Paris Hilton?

Ok, so my love for all things striped is still going on…and on…and on. Went to Yorkdale the other day, and almost bought two more striped things (a dress and a top). When will this madness stop? But the truth of the matter is…I feel comfortable and chic wearing Breton stripes…and that’s that. Stole my mom’s Ralph Lauren scarf…it is just soo comfy and warm! She won’t let me keep it, so I have to “borrow” it occasionally when she doesn’t wear it. Still loving my Aldo boots. Yeah, the heels are super high, but these are still the comfiest boots I own.
Oh, and I am also wearing my new Urban Outfitters “Texas” necklace!!! First spotted it at Buffalo’s Walden Galleria, regretted not buying it…tried to find it in Houston (without much luck), and finally got my paws on it in Toronto! You can’t see it here…but I’ll post a pic soon! Love it so much!

Spring 2010 ads have been steadily pouring in for over a month now, and in the midst of even mild winter, here in Toronto, it’s quite nice to look at the beautiful Spring collections and dream of what’s ahead! Karlie Kloss’ stint for Hermès is one of my favorites – those scarves, that hair, the locale. Such a dreamy paradise shot!
And then there’s Raquel Zimmermann for Alexander McQueen. What a brave girl! The collection, which was full of reptile prints on the runway, translates quite well into the printed ads, featuring the slithery, yet beautiful creatures, and of course, Raquel wrapped up in their cold-blooded embrace. Now that’s what I call professionalism. Because if those snakes were slithering anywhere near me…don’t even want to imagine! Though I must admit, the McQueen ad is definitely one of the more eye-catching and stunning photographs I’ve seen lately!
Which one of the Spring ads is your favorite?

I don’t think I was supposed to wear this dress to work, but thanks to the lenient office environment, I was able to pull it off without raising too many eyebrows. Have been very much into the monochromatic looks lately. Greys, whites, blacks are my friends…Maybe it’s the Toronto weather? Spring collections bring a promise of some color and fun shapes…and much needed warmth. Just in case you were wondering, I wore boots with the dress and leggings originally, but switched to pumps indoors. I am not crazy enough to walk around boots-less in the winter!

I don’t know if it’s because I’ve gained some (20lbs) weight recently, but it really irks me when people throw around the “F” word (as in fat) at girls that are size 4 at the most. First Gemma Ward, and now Lara Stone? Lara’s story is in January’s Vogue, and gives us a rare glimpse into the not-so-pretty side of modeling.
Still, it’s not easy being a four in a land of zeros. We don’t tend to talk much about models’ inner lives. It seems enough that they are enviably thin, impossibly beautiful, and paid gobs of money to stand around in gorgeous clothes, but it can be hard on a young girl’s psyche to constantly hear how different you are. “It’s depressing when the clothes don’t fit and you are always the odd one out,” says Stone. Wearing black Azzedine Alaïa boots, a Balenciaga miniskirt, and a Chanel necklace, Stone looks every inch a supermodel at the peak of her career, but her size remains an issue. “I was on a shoot just last week,” she says. “And the stylist took out this tight corset dress and said, ‘Here, put it on,’ and I was like, ‘Who are you kidding?’ There was no way, so that was very rude of her. It’s like, come on, she’s a woman; whether you’re buying jeans at the mall or wearing couture, you know what it’s like for clothes not to fit. It’s not an easy kind of rejection, because it’s very personal. It’s you, your body. You take it to heart.”
Here’s hoping that more designers and stylists will take note of Lara Stone’s phenomenal success, and ensure that the girls that are walking down their runways and starring in their ads are not only beautiful, but also healthy. Though that might take a while.

If you’ve always wondered what Louis Vuitton tastes like…you’re not alone. Swedish photographer Therese Aldgård and prop stylist Lisa Edsälv baked and styled these beauties, and don’t they just look good enough to eat?! I’m not a fan of cupcakes, though I think I might be the only one. I do love the esthetics of small cup-sized cakes and I do admit that they can be very, very cute! But to eat, I prefer real, big-ass cakes. Usually jammed with lots of stuff along with the usual batter and frosting. But for these, for these, I’d definitely make an exception! My favorite ones are the Agent Provocateur cupcakes. Don’t they remind you of little ta-tas?

Paris Fashion Week wraps up tomorrow, but I am too anxious to wait, so I’ll give you my faves today! Oh, Paris, how I love thee! So many amazing designers, so many beautiful creations…oh, how I wish I was there. I’ve been to Paris a few times now, and every time I find something different, something new to love about the city of light. And as far as fashion weeks go, this one is my favorite, hands down.

Again, I’m not sure if it’s because I am trying to see it, or if it really is an upcoming trend, but I am seeing nudes everywhere! But this being the Spring 2010 fashion week, there was plenty of color too! My favorite yellow at Stella McCartney, aqua at Viktor & Rolf, Kenzo, and McQueen, gorgeous red at Lanvin, orange at John Galliano, and many others.

And while I love me some Chanel, I wasn’t very impressed with anything from the spring collection this time around (or maybe it’s the clogs), so I am not including it in the highlights lineup. The collection I am definitely including is Alexander McQueen! Just look at the details! It’s underworld meets bug’s life! The fabrics, the shapes, the shoes, the hair! I couldn’t pick one, I love it all!
And while, others are showering Louis Vuitton’s collection with praise, to me…I just didn’t get it. More clogs, furry tails hanging off shoes, mish-mash of shapes and patterns. Not my cup of tea. And seriously, are you kidding me with this…are clogs really going to be in this coming spring??? I, for one, will never ever wear clogs! This is a promise. There’s far too many beautiful shoes out there to waste my time wearing something so ugly!
So c’est tout for Paris Fashion Week Spring 2010. I’m feeling a little sad to have to wait until the Resort collections will be released, but I think we had a great run with all these amazing clothes from London, New York, Paris, Milan…I guess we all can start making our wish lists for spring!

I have to admit that despite my looove for clothes, I am not a big shopper during my travels. The last 3 summers in Paris I bought…a silk handmade scarf for my mom, Louis Vuitton coin purse and a speedy strap, an Eiffel Tower keychain, and a bunch of vintage poster reproductions…all mementos of my stay in my favorite city in the whole entire world (well…almost). So these pics are from this summer…practically the only stores I visited on my trip. Sad, I know.
Chanel…no explanation necessary, right? It’s a Parisian must-see. Enough said. LV…we were in it mainly for the free champagne…and The Kooples? If you’re in Paris, absolutely check it out! Loved everything in the store! Wish we had it here in Toronto. Clothes that look like you could share them with your boyfriend, in soft and touchable fabrics. Amazingness!
