Zara November 2010 Lookbook – Evening Collection

Ok, so even though I am on a strict self-imposed no-purchases-until-after-Christmas shopping ban, I couldn’t help but long for a few of the items in this Zara Evening Collection lookbook. Namely the red shift and the lovely rosette dress.

Though with my luck (or lack thereof), both items will probably be sold out by the time I venture out to the store. But if you’re still looking for something fun to wear this Holiday season, perhaps Zara is worth checking out this month? What do you think?

H&M Fall 2010 Lookbook

I really like the new Fall 2010 H&M campaign, featuring a fellow Canadian Daria Werbowy. It is by no means groundbreaking, nor especially different, but what I love about the pieces featured is how wearable they are. This is everyday/everywoman chic at its easiest, and by the looks of it at its comfiest too.

I already own most of the pieces featured (or some similar ones), but I still want the above grey sweater with asymmetrical hem – it’s just so simple, and I can imagine wearing it all through the winter. What do you think about this lookbook? Is it great or boring? Let me know in the comments.

H&M Divided Fall 2010 Lookbook

What do you think about H&M’s new Fall 2010 lookbook? The campaign features models Abbey Lee Kershaw, Karmen Pedaru, Patricia van der Vliet, Bastiaan Ninaber, and Josh Beech. I’ve seen most of the pieces in stores already, so if you’re after that McQueen-ish dress or that leopard print top, check out your local H&M for availability. To be honest, I am a bit underwhelmed by these photos. Perhaps due to the fact that I don’t want to even think about Fall yet, but also because I don’t see anything exciting featured in this campaign. Maybe it’s just me?

Zara June 2010 Lookbook

Zara’s summer sale is now on! And though the items I mostly want aren’t on sale (they are from Fall collection), it might be a good time to stock up on some essentials and a few fun summer pieces.

Also, just wanted to apologize for the lack of posts last week – my weekend got a two day extension due to the G20 happening in the downtown Toronto area, so I spent both Thursday and Friday renovating my room (painting, wallpapering, etc)…perhaps I’ll share some photos of the end result sometime next week.

Oh, and the winner of the H&M giveaway will be announced quite soon…don’t worry, I didn’t forget about you!

Hope you are having a wonderful Monday, lovelies!

Zara Lookbook May 2010

Seems like Zara’s May 2010 Lookbook has a lot of things that I want for spring – flowy maxi skirts, muted natural colors, fun office pants, and an easy (Miu-Miu-rip-off) romper. I don’t necessarily love that fringe poncho, but it’s certainly interesting. Did you like May’s Lookbook or is it a bit too blah for you?

Club Monaco + Garance Doré Fall 2010 Lookbook

Absolutely adore this Garance Doré for Club Monaco lookbook. Her style of photography is quite distinct, no? You can tell just by looking at the photographs that it’s Garance’s work! And with Scott Schuman shooting Burberry campaign, among others, this power-duo really is taking the fashion world by a storm. Good for them!

As for the above pic, it really reminded me of this one…well, not the outfit so much, but the hairstyle and the general feel of it. What do you think?

More Club Monaco lookbook photos available here…and below are my fave Club Monaco/Garance Doré Q&A parts!

CM As a photographer what is it that fascinates you about street fashion?
GD It’s a great way to discover personalities, it’s a different way to live fashion than through
the magazine fashion stories, which are more an ideal (and which I love). It’s a great way to be
inspired and to find your own style.

CM Define Chic.
GD Real chic is something you have even when you are naked. It’s a mix of intelligence,
kindness, grace and pride. It’s a politeness to other people to look good…

H&M Fashion Against AIDS 2010 Lookbook

Last week we got a sneak-peak of the music-festival-inspired H&M’s 3rd Fashion Against AIDS collection. Well, hide your credit cards, a better look at the collection is now available! Ever since this lookbook landed in my inbox, I’m sad (for my wallet) to say, that I am in love with so many pieces! The maxi dress above is a must-have for me this summer, as well as the black fedora, ruffled white dress, leopard print sandals, and much more! Of course, once I see these pieces in real life on May 20th, I’ll be able to gauge the “must vs. want” much better. In the meantime, scroll through the pics and drool with me.

Spring 2010 Styles From Holts

Spring is officially in the air, and I am loving everything from the sun-filled streets, to the little buds on the trees! Doesn’t it just fill you with joy and desire to jump around – Kris Kross styles? It does me! Holt Renfrew decided to celebrate this season of re-birth, with a fun new lookbook – split into different types of dressing. My favorite photos are below. You may see the rest on Holts’ Facebook Fan Page!

Danier Spring 2010

Have you been to Danier lately? When their Spring Summer 2010 lookbook landed in my inbox, I was ready to dismiss it…who needs another boring leather jacket? Well, boring it isn’t! The season’s theme, according to the press release is Urban Parisian chic. From the perforated blazers, to purple colors, this collection is eclectic, and different from what you’re used to seeing at your local Danier store! Love so many of the pieces! The denim jacket with leather sleeves and the brown one below are my faves so far! What about you? Sound off in the comments!

Zara Lookbook February 2010

Have been meaning to post this Zara lookbook since, well, February. But due to unforeseen circumstances (laziness), posting photos now.

There are a few pieces that I love (the above trench, the Givenchy-esque blazer, the striped shirts), but in general, this lookbook left me slightly underwhelmed. Here’s hoping that March 2010 photos will have more bang.

J.Crew Spring 2010 Lookbook

Just looking at this J.Crew lookbook makes me really antsy for Spring! I am not a fan of pastels, but the styling of this photoshoot really works for me. Especially love the above photo with the fedora (so jealous, because they never look good on me), and the one below with nude socks…who knew that grandpa-chic could be both cute and sexy? Zara Lookbook December 2009

zara-dec09-lookbook-15

I am really loving this “lookbook of the month” thing that Zara has going on. Different model each month, new arrivals, great styling…it’s all there. All you need is to sit back and enjoy the show clothes. My December favorites are: the striped top above, the one-shouldered dress, and the nude blouse (below). Will have to stop by Zara today, to see if any of these are already in stores. Are you liking December’s offerings?

Obey the Tie-Dye

obey-x-catbreath-02

The moment I saw the new Abby Moriarty of Catbreath collection for OBEY Clothing, I knew I had to do a post on it! Love this collection’s mix of grunge and rock&roll sensibility. Love the footwear. Love the tie-dye. Love the styling. I was shopping with le boyfriend the other day, when he recoiled in horror after watching me pick up a pair of similar leggings (below). But seeing them in this lookbook, I think even he will agree, that a not-so-crazy look can be achieved simply by pairing a so-called “crazy” clothing item with something cool and wearable.

The collection was released yesterday online at the OBEY Shop.

Elizabeth and James Lookbook Spring 2010

elizabeth and james

Hot on the heels of The Row lookbook, comes Elizabeth and James Spring 2010. And this one, I definitely like much, MUCH better! Nothing new in terms of silhouettes, but nevertheless love the pretty dresses, the more serious separates, and the shoes! Are those shoes Elizabeth and James also? Again, nothing new, but still my heart flutters! It’s not even snowing in Toronto, and I am already thinking about my spring wardrobe. What is wrong with me???

Julia Restoin Roitfield and Daisy Lowe for Esprit SS2010

IMG_0360

I don’t think I’ve ever bought anything at Esprit before, but these ads, featuring Julia Restoin Roitfield and Daisy Lowe are making me pay attention! According to the company’s press release “Spring Summer 10, international lifestyle brand Esprit is revamped with a sensational celebrity campaign fronted by the beautiful Daisy Lowe as the fresh new face of edc by Esprit, and the stunning Julia Restoin-Roitfeld as the face of Esprit’s Women Casual range”. It’s the first time that Esprit uses celebrities for an ad campaign, and I must say that I definitely like their choice! Well, with the oh-so-stylish French Vogue Editor-in-chief’s daughter in tow, it looks like Esprit is in good company indeed. And as far as clothes go, I really like Daisy’s fringe vest! Will have to wait and see if the rest of the collection is just as fun!
