Friday Faux Pas: Jeffrey Campbell Fruit Slice Heel

Friday Faux Pas is back! Yay?

This week’s faux pas is Jeffrey Campbell’s knock-off of Charlotte Olympia’s amazing “Bananas Is My Business” fruit pumps. Yeah, yeah, JC is known to copy other designers, and then selling his shoes for less. But in this case, blatantly copying something so original and unique (or at the very least recent) is definitely disturbing. And though his fruit bowl shoes look like a sad, sad…saaad version of Charlotte Olympia’s gorgessity (clear plastic, really?), I still can’t believe that Urban Outfitters agreed to carry these in their stores.

So what do you think? Are these knock-offs a buy or a faux-pas? Take the poll below.

It was a pretty blah weekend here in Toronto. The weather…my goodness! I woke up at 1pm on Sunday, and it was still dark…Could’ve slept all day uninterrupted. Alas, I was awakened from my slumber, and ended up window shopping the day away after a quick Le Petit Dejeuner brunch. And though I vowed not to buy anything until after Boxing Day, I simply could not resist the amazing deal that was staring me in the face. Got these amazing black, lace-up booties from Aldo Liquidation store. Perfect Jeffrey Campbell “Poland” doppelgangers! Can’t wait to wear them! (Photos Coming Soon!)

Holidays 2009: All I Want for Christmas…

 Christmas

Dear Santa,

I know I wasn’t perfect this year, but I was hoping that you could overlook my small transgressions and bring me some swag anyway! Those Christopher Kane Cloud dresses are fab, and so are the Black Milk Sheer Spartan leggings! I would also like two all-inclusive tickets to Bali at some gorgeous resort. M’kay? Thanks!

Will try to be better next year!

xoxos,

Nelly

PS. No cookies this year. Trying to get fit for Bali. Help yourself to carrots and wheat grass shots in the fridge. Might help with chimney sliding too. You’re welcome.

Channelling Pretty Woman?

boots

Forgive my horrid hair and face. This was me after a full day of sleeping, tanning, swimming, relaxing, gorging on hot-dogs, sleeping some more, slathering sunblock all over my mug and bod, and no makeup. My first great sunny weekend of the year at Sibbald Point!

What you should look at are the boots. I am debating whether to keep these or not. These are Jeffrey Campbells, but looks to me like he was definitely “inspired” by Chloe and Rodarte. It was love at first sight when I saw them at Browns, but now I am having second thoughts. Are these too…hooker-ish? I cannot decide. Leave or love? Help!
