Shoes To Go: Cazz Giveaway

cazz shoes4

When the nice folks at Cazz Shoes offered to give me a pair of their new foldable ballet flats, I was very excited! Foldable shoes! Finally! When I told le boyfriend about the concept, he couldn’t understand the “why” of such a product. Generally, if you are a woman, you’ll know that the idea is genius. After all, most women I know have a couple of shoe selections to change into under their office desks, and I myself usually have 2-3 pairs, depending on the season. So I can definitely see why someone would come up with a concept of lightweight ballet flats that fold neatly into a small pouch, and which can be worn once the heels come off (i.e. when one is running to catch their subway train, go on a shopping spree after work, etc). So far, so good.

When I got the shoes though, I realized that they were humongous (for my feet anyway)! Having told Cazz people that I wear a size 8.5 shoe, the flats arrived in a size 10! After quick browsing on the company’s site, I realized that Cazz flats only come in 3 sizes (S 5-6, M 7-8, and L 9-10). Ahh, now it all makes sense! And here I thought that the Cazz people thought that they know my shoe size better than I do: “Oh, but in your email, Nelia, you sounded like you had large feet! Right? RIGHT?” Not. So the moral of this story is: if you wear a half-size – downsize! Not that there’s anything wrong with bigger feet, it’s just that wearing a wrong size would be hazardous, especially for klutzy people like myself.

On to the good stuff, the flats are lightweight, though not much cushioning, they’d be perfect for short hauls to the subway or mall scouring. The pouch is pretty amazing as well, small enough to fit in one’s purse, but also transformable (yes, I made up another word) into a larger bag to put your high heels into, once your original shoes come off. Genius, no? All that for under $20? I think it’d make a fantastic stocking stuffer for that busy gal in your life. Just make sure to get her the right size! Cazz flats come in 3 colors: midnight black, pearl white, and mercury silver.
