What I’m Wearing: Summer White

I don’t wear white often. This year especially…no sun = no tan = no wearing white! I don’t want to look ghostlier than I already do. But after Emma Roberts’ Teen Choice Awards appearance, I just had to dust off my old white Zara frock! Kinda reminds me of the one that she wore. Somewhat.

Rachel McAdams in White

I’ve been all about the dark tones lately, stocking up on my fall wardrobe items in different shades of grey and black (does black even have shades?). Anyway, first there was Emma Roberts at Teen Choice Awards, rocking the sh*t out of that white Monique Lhuillier sheath, and now there’s Rachel McAdams. Love Rachel McAdams! Not because she’s a fellow Canadian, but for reasons much more superficial…she’s so freaking gorgeous! And that, no doubt, means that she must be super nice as well, right?

Rachel showed up to the NYC premiere of Time Traveler’s Wife in this stunning white (Pucci?) dress. The plunging neckline is very bold, and even though she’s not really that good at posing (ever), the dress really stands out. Love the draping and the long sleeves (keeps it from looking too revealing). Doesn’t this kinda remind you of last year’s Alexander Wang dress? I want! It would be understatedly sexy for someone with no cleavage! Amazing for showing off the legs! I think I need more white in my wardrobe.

Emma Roberts at Teen Choice Awards

Is it me, or do 15 year old girls of Hollywood begin to look increasingly like 35 year old streetwalkers? Look at the teen favorite Miley Cyrus, for example, at Teen Choice Awards, strangely enough sporting a cross dangling on her neck and ears, while wearing a very short skirt, and proceding to dance with a pole during the show…definitely not looking like a teenager that she is. And there’s more of them, Ali Lohan and Cyrus’ younger sister spring to mind.

So it’s a really nice treat to finally see a young woman dressing appropriately for her age, looking fresh-faced and…yes, young. Is it because of her famous aunt? Is it the upbringing? Will she become another Lohan with age? Hope not.

So above is Emma Roberts at last night’s Teen Choice Awards, looking amazing in a modern, stylish, and not at all hoochie outfit. Compare and contrast.
