Jacob Spring 2012 Lookbook

jacob-spring-2012-lookbook-6

Making a mental note to stop by the nearest Jacob store to check out their spring arrivals, because from what I’ve seen so far – I like! Seriously, how gorgeous is that floral dress (above)?! Just imagine how fresh you’ll look at the office this spring…I’m imagining that right now. And that black and white Chanel-esque cuff? Need it!

If like me, you have been to Jacob in a while, I think it’s time to pay them a visit. Dibs on all the pretty dresses!

Shopping: Very

Sponsored Post

I get a lot of emails from readers looking for a perfect Prom/cocktail/wedding dress that is cute, and won’t be seen on 20 other special event attendees. And usually, my reply would be to shop the nearby vintage stores, buy lesser known brands, or use one of those “reservation” services, so that you know that another girl won’t end up wearing the exact same outfit (this mostly applies to Prom attendees).

While researching my own honeymoon dress options, I was introduced to Very.co.uk - a UK-based department store that carries a multitude of brands, like Forever Unique (at many different price points)…and I was actually VERY impressed! From sequined stunners, to gorgeous printed maxis, to cocktail dresses for womenVery has a dress for everyone. And if you’re not one of the lucky few that reside in the land of Wills and Harry, you should also check out Very.com, which ships internationally and offers similarly great selection.

Are you looking for a special occasion dress this season? What do you think of Very’s offerings? Share in the comments.

H&M Conscious Glamour Collection

hm-conscious-glamour

Color me super-impressed! My fave fast fashion retailer H&M is stepping up its design game. Launching on April 12th in around 100 stores worldwide* is H&M Conscious GLAMOUR Collection, featuring mind-blowing dresses, and separates for an H&M addict (like myself) with glam things to do, people to see, parties to attend…or for the lack of glam parties…to strut around the house feeling oh-so-pretty.

“To celebrate the rise of glamour, H&M has created the Exclusive Conscious collection of red-carpet looks that have all been made from more sustainable materials like organic cotton and hemp, and recycled polyester, as part of H&M’s Conscious initiative. The glamorous collection shows the diversity of what has become possible with greener fashion, with each outfit an individual style that stands on its own, to reflect the scope of red carpet fashion today.”

My jaw pretty much dropped to the floor when I first laid eyes on the ruffled dress above…I mean…Carrie Bradshaw in Paris came to mind immediately…and I knew then and there that I needed to have that dress (along with half of this collection). H&M Conscious Glamour Collection has already been worn by Oscar-nominated actresses like Michelle Williams and Viola Davis…as well as Kristin Davis (there’s the SATC connection!), and Amanda Seyfried. And now I’m literally counting down the days until I’ll be able to get my claws into a few of these gowns…Forget wedding planning! April 12th can’t come soon enough.

What do you think about H&M Conscious Glamour Collection? You have to love it! You love it, right? Right? Share your thoughts in the comments.

*H&M Conscious Collection will be available at the Eaton Centre in Toronto, as well as select stores in Vancouver and Montreal

Style Fille: Ginnifer Goodwin

Looks like my favorite Snow White is giving Diane Kruger a run for her money…style-wise, of course. Check out Ginnifer Goodwin in a Shoshanna leather dress, expertly paired with orange Giuseppe Zanotti platform heels and a fun oversized bracelet! Who knew a leather dress could look so sweet? Also, did I mention how much I love her pixie cut? A LOT.

Jason Wu for Target Toronto Pop-up Shop

If you follow me on Twitter, you already know that last Thursday, I was one of the lucky few who got to shop the one day pop-up shop of Jason Wu for Target in Toronto. With Jason in attendance, bloggers and media alike attacked the racks, grabbing their favorite pieces and dashing to the fitting rooms. As for me, I was left torn between wanting to buy more than the allowed 3 pieces, and being a good friend and getting the coveted kitty scarves for my friends. The friend thing won out, and I walked away with 3 kitty scarves in my Target tote.

But not before snapping some photos, ogling the handsome Brad Goreski, and checking out everyone’s loot (all proceeds donated to the United Way!) It was the most fun I’ve had shopping in a long while, and judging from the flawless execution of the pop-up shop (it was incredibly well-organized), I cannot to see what else the folks at Target Canada will have in store.

Did you line up for Jason Wu x Target last week? What did you buy? Excited to finally have Target in Canada? Share in the comments.

Mary Katrantzou for Topshop Lookbook!

Today was supposed to be a lazy sick day in bed for me…I wasn’t going to blog, go online, or do anything at all…except for sleeping, and watching TV, of course. Well…I broke my “go online” rule…and found out that Mary Katrantzou for Topshop collection lookbook is now available! And, of course, who could resist?

Not sure about you, but I have serious envy right now for all those Brits that will be able to shop this collab. At this point, I doubt we’ll be seeing these pieces at Topshop stores in Canada, but one can always dream, right? Love all the floral pieces, love the styling, and love the price points (GBP 40 to GBP 350). Now the question is…how inflated those prices will be on eBay? Another prediction – VERY inflated. Le sigh.

What do you think of this collaboration? Are you going to line up on February 17th, when the collection finally hits the stores? If you are…pick me up a piece or 10, will you?

UPDATE: Well, guess what?! The Mary Katrantzou for Topshop collection WILL be available at the Yorkdale Topshop location (at The Bay) sometime at the beginning of March! Stay tuned for more details. Dreams do come true!!!

Louis Vuitton Spring 2012 Ad Campaign

I don’t know about you, but Louis Vuitton’s Spring 2012 ad campaign, shot by Steven Meisel, and starring Daria Strokous and Kati Nescher has me coveting everything. Those intricate eyelet lace dresses, the pointy silver pumps, the chic suiting – it’s all so feminine, and has me day-dreaming of macarons, marshmallows, and Paris.

Or perhaps it’s the candy-garnished milk shakes that have me drooling. Either way…sign me up!

Style Fille: Claire Danes

Ok, so I am not a fan of Claire Danes’…BUT…this look is so good, I just couldn’t resist. I don’t know about you, but I adore her red Valentino lace frock! It’s so chic and perfect. Love it so much, that if it was available online, I might’ve actually clicked “Buy”…accidentally. Ok, maybe not (I still have bills to pay), but I seriously couldn’t stop staring at it for good five minutes (and that’s a long time, y’all!). I also love the fact that she didn’t over-accessorize, and kept it nice and simple with her black pumps, and clutch.

Do you like this look? Obviously, you do. AMIRITE? Let me know in the comments.

LG Fashion Week: Pink Tartan Spring 2012

I can’t believe it’s almost December, and I am still posting LGFW reviews! At least, as with other spring previews, it gives you (and me) something to look forward to this winter. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

So, on to Pink Tartan Spring 2012. French tunes leading the way, attendees were in for a Riviera-inspired treat. Chic black and white frocks, striped jackets, and cigarette pants were all perfect for trotting the streets of Nice, looking like you belong.

My favorite pieces included anything striped (obviously), shiny red (or blue) pants (so fun!), and dresses that looked office-appropriate, yet dressy enough for a night out on the town (best combo ever).

Overall, Pink Tartan Spring 2012 certainly wasn’t a groundbreaking collection, but I loved it nonetheless. Most pieces had a timeless feel (save for the shiny red pants) that I’ve been needing to infuse into my own wardrobe. In my opinion, the more wearable, modern classics, the better.

What do you think of Pink Tartan’s spring collection? Let me know in the comments.

Miss Sixty Spring 2012 Preview

Two of my favorite things about running a blog are meeting people who are passionate about the industry and what they do, and seeing pretty clothes before they hit the shelves. Last week, at the Miss Sixty showroom, I got to do both! Deanna from Miss Sixty was super sweet, and as the perfect(est) brand ambassador – she wore Miss Sixty head-to-toe, making me want to check out the clothes !

She walked me through the Spring 2012 arrivals, which included a ton of pretty summer dresses, flirty tops, and of course, denim, denim, denim. My fave Miss Sixty pieces included a lace print mini skirt, pleated blue dress (below), convertible trench-dress-bolero, a couple of gorge jackets, and colorful shoe-candy! Just looking at all of those fun pieces made me feel happy, and not as depressed about the impending winter (brrrr).

I also got to take a peek at the Killah collection – a line for younger girls, but which I could totally see myself wearing in a heartbeat! Should I admit that? Either way, the Killah Spring 2012 collection was chock-full of flirty dresses, cutesy tees, polka dots, stripes…oh my!

Before this preview, I haven’t stopped by the Miss Sixty Yorkdale store in ages. What about you? When was the last time you shopped there? Perhaps it’s time for a re-visit?

Versace for H&M Preview

Are you counting the days until the glam Versace for H&M collection hits the stores? Will you be lining up?

Last week, I got to take a sneak peek at the collection, and was happily surprised with the quality of the pieces. From embedded studs, to soft leather, to vibrant colors – it all looked very good. But if I had to choose just one piece to splurge on (sigh…any purchase nowadays is a splurge), it would be the high-waisted palm-tree-printed skinny jeans – hands down, my favorite.

Which Versace for H&M pieces are on your wishlist? Share in the comments.

Mary Katrantzou for Topshop!

News broke this morning that Topshop (that we finally have in Canada – hooray!) will be collaborating with London-based designer Mary Katrantzou! Katrantzou’s artfully printed frocks have first caught my attention at The Room, where I was too terrified to even glance at price tags on her beautiful pieces of art that we call dresses. And we all know that…if you’re too scared to look, sadly, you can’t afford it. So you can imagine how happy I was that after all the drooling and wishing for a chance to own a piece by Katrantzou, my dreams are (sort of) coming true!

The collection, consisting of 14(!!!) pieces is slated to drop next February, according to the Style Bubble. And though you certainly won’t be paying anywhere near regular prices for this Topshop collab, it will still cost you a pretty penny, with this dress going for GBP 350. But no matter, the die-hard Katrantzou fans will be delighted at this lovely collab, and judging from the preview pics, we’ll be getting a bang for our bucks – the preview dress looks stunning, even if it’s a little less dramatic than her original designs. But for a fraction of the price, who’s complaining?

This is definitely one of the best fast-fashion collabs ever…certainly in the same league as Lanvin for H&M. Are you as excited as I am? Share in the comments, lovelies!
