Obey the Tie-Dye

obey-x-catbreath-02

The moment I saw the new Abby Moriarty of Catbreath collection for OBEY Clothing, I knew I had to do a post on it! Love this collection’s mix of grunge and rock&roll sensibility. Love the footwear. Love the tie-dye. Love the styling. I was shopping with le boyfriend the other day, when he recoiled in horror after watching me pick up a pair of similar leggings (below). But seeing them in this lookbook, I think even he will agree, that a not-so-crazy look can be achieved simply by pairing a so-called “crazy” clothing item with something cool and wearable.

The collection was released yesterday online at the OBEY Shop.

SATC2 Style: Studs and Acid Wash

sjp

After a little SATC2 break, more photos of Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie have surfaced! Hooray! This time Carrie is wearing a tiara-looking headband, and Balmain-looking studded acid wash jeans. Could be a cute outfit, IF she wasn’t wearing Uggs. I have to admit that I actually own a pair and wear them often during the slushy, snowy winters here in Canada, so I guess SJP is entitled to some comfort during the filming breaks too. But Carrie, Carrie would never be caught dead wearing those! Very curious to see what hot footwear she’ll rock in the movie instead!

What I’m Wearing: Denim Shirt

denim shirt

Love H&M so much!!! Was looking everywhere for a light-blue denim button up! Zara had a few, but they just didn’t fit right. This one fits well, and I love the color of the denim and the pearly snap buttons! Got it only a few weeks ago, and already wore it half-to-death. And I guess the true test of whether you really “need” an item is if you can wear it with a million things and don’t ever (or for a few weeks) want to take it off.

What I’m Wearing: Paris

I got these ridiculous-looking shoes at H&M a few weeks ago. They are green, purple, yellow…They are ridiculous and I love them! A while ago I wanted to buy 2 pairs of shoes, same type, different colors and wear them mixed/matched (ie. blue on one foot, pink on the other). I never could justify buying 2 pairs of the same shoes, even if they were different colors, thus I never brought this idea to life. With my new ridiculous H&M shoes, however, I think I’ll be able to achieve the same look without shelling out for 2 pairs.

And even though the collage of what I’m planning to wear in Paris doesn’t really show the actual shoes, the ones below capture the idea pretty well…alas not as ridiculously.
