Wishlist: Charlotte Olympia Perfume Bottle Clutch

Charlotte-olympia-perfume-bottles-clutch-gary-pepper

For a couple of months now, I’ve been obsessed with an empty perfume bottle…But not just any old perfume bottle – a Charlotte Olympia one! First the kitty flats, then the bird clutch, then the Paris flats, and now the perfume clutch. The woman sure knows a way to my heart.

And after seeing the lovely Nicole of Gary Pepper wearing hers so well, my want turned into a need, and now I have to hide my credit card in the freezer, in order to avoid pulling the trigger on this one. Although I do feel like Charlotte’s bags and shoes are almost like pieces of art (don’t judge me!), and I’d cherish them for years to come…so it’s somewhat justified…right?! Or is it my denial talking?

What do you think of these lovely Charlotte Olympia Perfume Clutches? They come in different shapes and colours (1, 2, 3, 4) too! Which one is your fave?

What I Wore: FAJO Magazine’s Love Issue

fajo-magazine-nelia-belkova-2

Last month, Canada’s leading digital fashion magazine FAJO invited me to participate in a fun little photoshoot for their Love Issue, and of course, I couldn’t say no! I got to wear my own clothes, with the only suggestion being that I wear a little bit of red, because…LOVE…duh! And here’s what I came up with.

The first look represents one of my favourite spring trends – black and white stripes. After searching for a pair of Beetlejuice pants for what seemed like forever, I finally stumbled upon these H&M skinnies, and have been happily wearing them since. For an obligatory pop of red, I chose my brand-spanking-new ela editor clutch, which I won (yay!) from Holt Renfrew, and a swipe of red lipstick.

For my second outfit, I wore more stripes, because that’s what I do best. I also threw on my Charlotte Olympia Luna pumps that I scored on MAJAH sale at The Room, a pair of good old boyfriend jeans, and heart sunnies from my wedding. Simple, fun, and oh-so-me!

Valentine’s Day: Gift Guide 2013

valentines-day-gift-guide-2013

Valentine’s Day is almost here, and if you’ve known me long enough, you know that I’ve been enjoying all that leads up to the actual day – all of the heart-shaped candy, stupid/cute stuffed toys, and everything red and pink. But surprisingly, I still haven’t gotten a present for le bf just yet. It’s so unlike me to procrastinate on things like that, but now that we’re married, and house-hunting, Valentine’s Day gift shopping has taken a bit of a back seat.

Having said that, being a Valentine’s Day-obsessed freak that I am, I still felt that it was important to share my favourite gift picks with you. Either to inspire your loved ones to get you that something pretty, or to inspire you to spoil yourselves. Who says that you need to have a lover to enjoy Valentine’s Day?

Wishlist: Charlotte Olympia Graca Pumps

charlotte-olympia-graca-bird-cage-pumps

As soon as Christmas and New Year’s Eve are done and over with, my mind automatically fast-forwards to spring, because the thought of 3 more months of cold, snow, and slush is just too depressing to bear. But don’t fret, today’s wishlist item is as cheerful as they come!

This spring, my must-have pair of shoes is Charlotte Olympia’s Graca Pump from the designer’s Glamazon Cruise 2013 collection! A classic red pump at first glance, the heel reveals a colourful bird caged behind an exquisite “cage” heel. As a sucker for kitschy pieces, I am crushing on this pretty bird…hard. I’ll be surely stalking these at The Room, and online…until I get my paws hands on them!

Holidays 2012: New Year’s Eve Pajama Party

new-year-pajama-party

As much as I love getting dressed up and partying it up on New Year’s Eve, this year, I just don’t feel up to it. Perhaps I’m getting old, but the thought of wearing a skimpy dress while it’s freezing outside, and dragging my butt across the city to a crowded and overpriced party just doesn’t have the same appeal this year.

So instead of getting all dressed up, my friends and I will be doing the opposite – having a pajama party at someone’s house! And best of all, I won’t have to look shlumpy either. The PJ trend has been around for a while now, and some of the coolest looks I’ve seen as of late feature some sort of a fun twist on the sleepwear trend. So this New Year’s Eve I’ll be rocking my newly-acquired black with white-piping H&M PJs, Charlotte Olympia velvet kitty flats, and a bold necklace to dress up the look, while sipping delicious Pinnacle Whipped Vodka cocktails and playing Cards Against Humanity (aka best game ever!) with some of my dearest friends. Comfy, inexpensive, and fun.

So what about you? Are you planning to go out and party all night long? Do you know what you’ll wear? Let me know in the comments!

Wishlist: Charlotte Olympia Lunatic Clutch

charlotte-olympia-moon-clutch

Remember those Charlotte Olympia Luna shoes I posted about in July? Well, now I also want one of these Lunatic clutches as well! As always, Charlotte is a woman after my own heart, with her whimsical yet functional designs, perfect for those looking to inject some fun into their wardrobes. I, for one, am a total kitsch lover, and therefore cannot resist these lovely clutches. Somebody, please ice my credit card, stat!

What do you think of Charlotte’s Lunatic design? Is it too crazy for you, or just crazy enough? Let me know in the comments.

Friday Faux Pas: Another Blatant Charlotte Olympia Knock Off

charlotte-olympia-kitty-flats-knock-off

I realize that a lot of fast fashion brands tend to “borrow” ideas from the more expensive brands, but this particular knock-off really takes the fake cake. Unlike Jeffrey Campbell with those Fruit Pump knock-offsGo Jane hasn’t even bothered to change up Charlotte Olympia’s nearly iconic kitty flats design. The cat face is undeniably similar to Charlotte’s kitty, and though this pair will only cost you $19.40, these cheap faux-suede loafers certainly don’t look nearly as good as the original pair.

But what do you think about this? Is it wrong for Go Jane to blatantly rip off an original design, or do you think it’s not a big deal? Take the poll below, or comment to share your opinion.

What I Wore: Sisterhood of The Crazy Pants

spots-pants

I literally sat and stared at my screen for hours before I came up with that title…mostly because I was too busy watching the trainwreck that is “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo”. So I apologize in advance if this post is extra dotty today.

As you can see, my crazy pants obsession continues, but with polka-dotted, floral, pajama, python, plaid, and all other kinds of pants taking over my closet, I know I can’t be the only one! So what I’m trying to say here is…sisterhood of crazy pants, anyone? Anyone?

Wishlist: Charlotte Olympia Luna Pump

Charlotte-Olympia-895-LUNA--1024x794

Charlotte Olympia strikes again! This time, she’s got me dreaming about her Fall 2012 Luna pumps ($985), which remind me of the Dolce & Gabbana Face Wedges I was coveting back in 2010. So basically, what I’m saying is that it’s been 2 years, and I am still really into silly, kitschy, whimsical things. Sigh. I guess some things never change.

What do you think of Charlotte Olympia’s Luna Pumps? Is it something you’d ever wear? Share in the comments.

Wishlist: Charlotte Olympia “Baboushka” Bag

charlotte-olympia-matryoshka-doll-bag

The moment I saw this Charlotte Olympia “Baboushka” bag (GBP 375), I knew I had to have it. It’s like Charlotte continues to design things with me in mind…first the black Kitty Flats that are a carbon copy of my cat Pepper, and now this matryoshka bag! Oh, Charlotte…you know me so well.

Here’s hoping that Nicholas Mellamphy orders a few of these for The Room. Fingers crossed.
