Ok, I know I am a bit late on this one, but I really love this BCBG Max Azria Spring 2010 ad! The dresses are obviously amazing, but the poses are even more fun – definitely demonstrates the airiness of these pieces, no?

What did I do last Saturday, when it rained buckets outside? Why, I WERKed it with Miss J. Alexander! Ok, I didn’t actually WERK it with him, but I sure did get a chance to meet his fabulous self and snap up his new book “Follow the Model”. Holts’ “Celebrity Walk Off Event” drew a sizable and fashionable crowd, including Anita of I Want-I Got, Amy Verner of Globe and Mail, and MTV’s Dan Levy among others.
Al and I got a chance to eat some cotton candy, chat with some women that seemed to worship the ground Miss J struts on, and of course, meet the one and only. Another highlight of my day was actually meeting Amy Verner in person. She’s gorgeous, and very lovely! I, also, spotted many stylish peeps, whose photos you can see below. All in all, it was a fun event, and worth the wait. My only gripe is that I missed the actual walk off, hence no photos. But I am sure everyone did fantastic…or as Miss Verner put it, at least noone became “fashion roadkill” ala Sex and the City.

Love the shorts, the scarf…everything!

Of course those glasses are Chanel. Why do I even bother to ask. What a great outfit!

Love this BCBG jacket. Ever since I snapped this photo, I’ve been seeing it everywhere! So lovely!

Ok, so this post has been way overdue, but to my defense, last week was a very busy one! I tried on these dresses at Flare’s 30th anniversary party that was held at BCBG on Bloor St. West in Toronto. The one above was by far my favorite, mostly because of the fit – like it was made for me! I also loved the flowered strap…although le boyfriend would probably call it a snake, or whatever else he’d come up with (he called a shoulder bow from a French Connection dress a parrot!).
The fit of the maxi dress below is also quite nice, but the color is too muted, no? It has that slightly dirty-ish look to me. I guess I’m a fan of defined colors: true blue, red, purple, but not dirty blue, or washed out red. You understand, right? But otherwise, it would’ve been a perfect dress for Jen’s wedding in January. If only it came in a brighter color!

The last dress, especially from the front, is not very evening-appropriate, but the back is so cool (excuse the bikini line), that I had to try it on! The lovely sales lady also picked out the shiny belt for the dress, which I must admit, really did make the dress look better! In the end, I didn’t buy any of them, first of all because I still have plenty of time (couple of months), and second, I must really love the dress in order to spend $500 on one, and unfortunately, as cute as these dresses were, they weren’t “it”. I did, however, buy a dress in Buffalo last weekend. And I think it might just be “the one”! Stay tuned!

As you have probably heard, Flare Magazine is now 30! And to celebrate this fun occasion, the magazine partnered up with a few great stores to thank its readers and to prove to everyone that the magazine is as fabulous as ever at 30! Last night, Al and I attended the BCBG party on Bloor St. in Toronto. While the scale of the party was nowhere near that of H&M‘s, the beautiful dresses more than made up for it! Did you know that BCBG stands for Bon Chic, Bon Genre (Good Style, Good Attitude)? Good style and good attitude? Check! As well as champagne and my favorite macarons from MoRoCo!
As you all probably know already (from all my whining on this blog), I desperately need 2 dresses to go to 2 weddings! And my search has been nothing but a big whopping disappointment! Last night, however, I found an awesome dress, that is definitely a shoo-in to be a winner (not that there’s much competition). I’ll be posting some dresses I tried on last night in a separate post later, but in the meantime, I just wanted to give you all a heads up that BCBG|Max Azria stores are offering 20% off all regular merchandise in honor of Flare’s 30th birthday! Fabulous, no?
You can RSVP here. Events are happening in Montreal, Ottawa, Vancouver, Calgary, and obviously Toronto. Have fun and don’t forget to wish Flare a Happy Birthday!

Shopping is fun when you don’t have to shop. It’s fun when you do it on a whim, and go in without a specific item in mind. That’s when it’s most fun for me. Shopping with a purpose – not so much. Have two weddings coming up pretty soon and am in need of two dresses. Wedding shopping = no fun.
Have you noticed that when you are actually looking for something, you can never find it? It’s so annoying! I feel like just a few months ago, stores were overflowing with amazing dresses, and now – all fall and winter clothes! What’s the deal? I get it, I get it…but still…fact is, I can’t wear an amazing suit jacket with (faux) fur trim paired with skinny jeans and ankle boots to a wedding! Can I?
Ok…trying to focus. Here are some pics of dress shopping at BCBG Max Azria. My favorite so far is the cream-colored Grecian-looking dress above. But is the color too close to white? Wedding appropriate or not?

Absolutely adore what Lauren Conrad wore to the launch of the new Who What Wear book! Super cute floral BCBGeneration dress, shiny, no fuss hair, and strappy sandals. It’s so simple, but it works! Love the dark red lip with florals. I think the lipstick pulls this whole outfit together. Love it so much! I should use my Black Honey from Clinique more often.
