What I Wore: Flow

Sade – Flow

Is it possible I could feel this cool
I could really love you the way I do
Is it possible I could feel this good
I could really love you the way I do

See me (Within the light)
Flowing (Take me to you)
Like the river to the sea
You come down (I’m in the light)
You cover (Pull me to you)
And the waves rush over me

I feel a love light rush over me
I feel the love turn to me
And then your love just creeps over me
Over me

What I Wore: Little Green

Born with the moon in Cancer
Choose her a name she will answer to
Call her green and the winters cannot fade her
Call her green for the children who’ve made her
Little green, be a gypsy dancer

He went to California
Hearing that everything’s warmer there
So you write him a letter and say, “Her eyes are blue.”
He sends you a poem and she’s lost to you
Little green, he’s a non-conformer

Just a little green
Like the color when the spring is born
There’ll be crocuses to bring to school tomorrow
Just a little green
Like the nights when the Northern lights perform
There’ll be icicles and birthday clothes
And sometimes there’ll be sorrow

Child with a child pretending
Weary of lies you are sending home
So you sign all the papers in the family name
You’re sad and you’re sorry, but you’re not ashamed
Little green, have a happy ending

Just a little green
Like the color when the spring is born
There’ll be crocuses to bring to school tomorrow
Just a little green
Like the nights when the Northern lights perform
There’ll be icicles and birthday clothes
And sometimes there’ll be sorrow

(Little Green – Joni Mitchell)

What I Wore: Dot, Dot, Dot

Those of you that follow me on Twitter, already know that Mondays nights are reserved for Bachelor/Bachelorette watching/bitching. It’s my not-so-secret guilty pleasure. Don’t lie, I know you have one too! Anyway, this season of Bachelorette is probably one of the most frustrating/annoying/boring seasons in a while, and somehow I still tune in every Monday. What is wrong with me???

More importantly, what is wrong with ASHLEY? Her constant whining over that douche Bentley leaves me gasping for air…as I simply don’t have enough lung capacity to be screaming at the TV for the entire hour. Sometimes, she says the word “Bentley” 5 times in one minute. If you don’t think that it’s a lot, try playing a drinking game – for every time that dreaded word escapes Ashley’s mouth, take a shot of tequila. By the time the show is over, you’ll be passed out on the floor of your living room.

Anyway…the point is…I hate this show, and everything it stands for…but yet I still tune in week after week. How does it relate to my outfit? Well, it kinda doesn’t. But if you watch The Bachelorette, you know what “dot, dot, dot” stands for…and let’s just say, this post was “inspired” by the “dot, dot, dot”…oh, and also, my shirt has dots on it.

Brain vacay…it’s a thing.

I Wore: Shirt – Forever21; Pants – Gap; Bag – Prada; Shoes – JLo (Winners); Necklace – Balisi

Organic Style: Taste of the Danforth

Taste of the Danforth might be very overrated, but I always go…the reason? Honey balls! I mean, it’s sugary sweet dough balls covered in honey – what’s not to like? Apart from the food, I also like to keep my eye on the stylish passerby, that is if I can tear myself away from gluttonously devouring chicken souvlaki, corn on the cob, and soft-serve ice-cream…yum!

What about you? Did you go this year? Which food stand is you favorite? Share in the comments.

What I Wore: To the Moon and Back

I have a backlog of posts coming (hopefully) soon, but in the meantime, here’s what I wore to last night’s Moon Apparel launch party. As you might remember, I’ve been searching for a pair of leather shorts for a while now…and I found them at Danier a couple of weeks ago! Not too short, not too tight, cuffed, and perfect. Just the way I wanted them! And the best part of all is that I got them on sale. What’s not to love?

Also wore a new necklace from Balisi, which has a cute story behind it. Last week, at the Taste of the Danforth festival, my friends and I went into Balisi to check out their sale (amazing deals, by the way) and I really liked this necklace. It was only $30, but I couldn’t justify buying yet another chain necklace, having decided a while back that I am only allowed to buy serious jewelry. Not even 30 minutes later I lost $20. After telling le boyfriend the story, I lamented that I should’ve spent the said lost money on the necklace instead, so at least I’d have something to show for it. Next day after brunch with my girls, le boyfriend showed up with a Balisi bag! Apparently, he texted my friend to find out what kind of a necklace it was, went to the Danforth to buy it and they were sold out! He then went to their College location, bought it and brought it to me. How freaking sweet is that? Sorry if it’s too sugary of a story, but I just really love that man! Yeah, I said it. Ok, I’ll stop now…Moon Apparel post is coming soon!

I Wore: Shirt, Men’s Bracelet, Ring - H&M; Shorts – Danier Leather; Shoes – Aldo; Necklace – Balisi; Backpack – Chanel

Shopping: Balisi Shoes

I have a shocking confession to make…I have never shopped at Balisi. Scratch that…I have never shopped at Balisi until a couple of weeks ago. Why not? I guess I never knew that they carry such an awesome selection of cool and unique shoe styles. After searching high and low for a pair of Melissa x Vivienne Westwood Lady Dragon shoes, I (luckily) stumbled upon Balisi’s website, and promptly made my way over to their Queen Street location.

Not only was I pleasantly surprised by their extensive Melissa stock, but they also had non-rubber shoes galore! And, on top of that, the store was having a 40% off sale all weekend long. How cool is that? So not only was I able to satiate my plastic heart craving (it really is a sickness…help me?), but I got to drool over some really amazing pairs of shoes too. Not one to selfishly keep these beauties to myself, I thought I’d share some photos with you. All of these pairs (except for the creepy rat shoes) have tugged at my heart strings, but being a good girl that I am (yeah, right!), I walked away only with what I came for…not that it means that I won’t be making another trip to Balisi soon, because I will, as I’m definitely a convert…especially if they keep having these awesome sales…wink*wink*nudge*nudge.

PS. So these rat shoes definitely creeped me out. Totally the opposite of the cute Marc Jacobs “Mouse” flats, no? But still there was something very compelling about these, so I had to take a picture to share with you. Would you ever rock these or do they make your skin crawl?
