Coming Soon: Altuzarra for Target Fall 2014!

Huge news! Target has just announced their latest designer collaboration, and this time it’s with Joseph Altuzarra! Altuzarra for Target collection will be launching on September 14, 2014, and will include more than 30 items, ranging in price from $17.99 to $89.99 for apparel, and $29.99 to $79.99 for shoes and accessories. The collection will be sold at most Target stores in the United States and Canada, with an edited assortment available globally at NET-A-PORTER.COM.

“As a designer, I believe firmly in the transformative power of fashion. It has the ability to not only change how you look, but also how you feel,” said Joseph Altuzarra, the brand’s designer and creative director. “I’ve admired the elegance that Target brings to fast fashion. By working together on this capsule collection, we hope to instill a sense of power, confidence and beauty in women everywhere.”

Fans of the brand include celebs like Lady Mary (aka Michelle Dockery), Nicole Kidman, Cate Blanchett, Rihanna, Cameron Diaz, among many others, and I am really looking forward to seeing what the collab will actually look like. I’ve wanted to buy a pair of Altuzarra heels for a while now, and perhaps now, I can get a pair on the cheap! Are you excited about this collab? Share in the comments!

Style Fille: Miu Miu Women’s Tale Event

Ok, first things first…THAT CAT WALLPAPER! I NEED IT IN MY LIFE AND I DON’T CARE WHAT I HAVE TO DO TO OWN IT! Now that that’s taken care of, let’s talk fashion, shall we?

Earlier this week Miu Miu threw a party to celebrate the release of its latest installment of the Women’s Tales series in New York. The star-studded guest list included Hailee Steinfeld, Alexa Chung, Solange Knowles, Sami Gayle, and Anna Dello Russo with her dress twin Giovanna Battaglia (they did the right choice!). Most attendees wore Miu Miu Spring 2014 designs, with some Prada and Carven thrown in for good measure, and I honestly loved it all! Obviously, Hailee’s cat-print coat wins at life right now, but I could also get down with Alexa’s dreamy dress…and about anything else at that party. Though I won’t be buying any of those pieces full-price, I will do my darndest to try and find it at The Mall, or at SPACE in a year or so. Fingers crossed!

What about you? Are you as into these looks as I am? Share in the comments!

Halloween 2012: Last-Minute Costumes

Halloween is next week, and as always, I won’t be spending money on a costume. Instead, I’ll rifle through my closet to pull together a last-minute outfit. This year, there are four options that I’m considering.

1. Anna Dello Russo

Perhaps it’s not very original to dress up as Anna Dello Russo anymore, but with the recent Anna Dello Russo at H&M collection still in stores, it’s never been easier to dress up as this colorful editor. Stack those bangles, rock that feathered headpiece, grab a stuffed chihuahua toy, and a shower head…and shower your fabulous fashion advice onto everyone you meet. After all, who doesn’t need a fashion shower?

2. Marc Jacobs at the MET Gala

Already lampooned by Seth Meyers, this one is fairly easy to pull together. All you need is a see-through black lace dress with long sleeves, a pair of white boxers, some chunky heels, and a Spongebob tattoo (sticker will suffice). If you can’t find a lace dress, a pink polo dress is a good option too!

What I Wore: Mad for Plaid

Actually, this post should probably be renamed Mad for Joe…because…well, I might have a bit of a Joe Fresh addiction lately. Absolutely in love with my new comfy plaid button-up, and these skinny wax jeans are the bomb (comfy and sexy at the same time)! But the best part of shopping at Joe Fresh – I get new clothes, while le bf doesn’t even notice an occasional shirt on our grocery bill. Everybody wins!

Have you checked out the latest Joe Fresh arrivals? If not, make sure to pay a visit to one of their many stores. Trust me, you won’t be able to leave empty-handed! Happy Friday, lovelies!

Anna Dello Russo x H&M Collaboration Sneak Peek!

Have you heard yet??? Anna Dello Russo is collaborating with my fave fast-fashion retailer H&M! Don’t you just love waking up to good news? Judging from the sneak peek photos – the accessory collection will be full of GOLD, GOLD, and more GOLD! And I honestly love it so much! “I am excited by this collaboration: this is the first time H&M has involved a fashion director in a special project. This is the sign of an important evolution in fashion, and I am both thrilled and humbled to be the one chosen to lead it. I wanted to create precious accessories that are impossible to find. The Met’s Costume Institute Gala 2011: Best

There’s no night like the Met’s Costume Institute Gala for fashion porn. To me, not even the Oscars can compete with THE  fashion event that is Met Ball. Which is why, year after year, I keep hoping for more drama, more choices that aren’t exactly safe – something eye-popping, gorgeous, and not boo-ring. This year, there were so many champagne color safe gowns, some really beautiful (Gwyneth Paltrow in Stella McCartney), others (cough*Kate Hudson in Stella McCartney*cough) not so much, but all withouth exception – boring, boring, boring. And though the idea of “Best Dressed” is really a matter of preference and opinion, here are my top 5 best-dressed ladies of the night.

1. Ginnifer Goodwin in Topshop Unique

Lovely pop of color and that beautiful face with perfect makeup, and her new-ish pixie. This one was my favorite look of the night.

2. Diane Kruger in Jason Wu

You already know that I love me some Diane. And I felt that her super-high thigh-slit and those gorgeous gams of hers really made this look. So hot!

3. Margherita Missoni in Missoni

A dress that is part sorbet buffet and part Swan Lake…I’m all over it! Love her choice of accessories, and that messy bun. Such a fun, fresh, young look. Love it!

4. Anna Dello Russo in Alexander McQueen

This was rather understated for ADR, no? But I still loved her take on feminine tuxedo-dressing, egg-headpiece and all.

5. Liv Tyler in Givenchy Couture

The entire Spring 2011 Givenchy Couture collection was one of the best in a very long time, and this gown is definitely anything but boring. I love the color, the feathers, and the origami-like detailing. I wish I could wear something this beautiful one day. It’s exquisite!

Do you agree with my picks? Do you think they are hideous? Did you have some other favorites? Discuss in the comments?

When Tommy Met Anna: Anna Dello Russo and Tommy Ton at The Room

With such industry boldface names as Jeanne Beker, Liz Cabral of Flare, The Room’s Nicholas Melamphy, socialite Suzanne Rogers, Shinan Govani of the National Post, designers Jenny Bird and Sunny Fong, and many others, partying alongside Vogue Japan’s Anna Dello Russo and Toronto’s own (via Oakville), Tommy Ton at the “When Tommy Met Anna” exhibit gala – The Bay was the place to be last Wednesday night!

Dello Russo, who reportedly changed 6-7 times throughout the day, wore a variety of outfits by designers available at The Room – from the artful Mary Katrantzou dress and skirt, to the girly bandaid frock by Giles, to the elegant Erdem shift (with a feather coat by Wayne Clarkfor some added drama, of course)…Anna was once again a one-woman fashion show – surrounded by giddy fashion lovers and photographed all night long. Other pieces seen on Dello Russo were shoes by Charlotte Olympia, Alaia and Brian Atwood, dresses by Wu, Prabal Gurung, and Giambattista Valli…safe to say – eye candy galore! Toronto’s stylish set, agonized over WHAT TO WEAR for weeks prior, also did not disappoint in their best à la Anna attire – making it one of the best parties to people watch in a while.

The next day, Dello Russo, sporting a custom-made HBC Canoe on her head (Mr. Canoehead, anyone?), and Ton with golden eggs on his noggin, came back to The Room to sign autographs, shake hands, and kiss babies  pose for photos with eager fans – the final hurrah of ADR’s first whirlwind visit to her “guru’s” home country, and an event that will surely be discussed for weeks to come.

If you missed your opportunity to meet the street style icon in person, you can still check out the showcase of Tommy Ton’s best ADR photos at The Room, which runs until this Friday, April 29th. We will also be giving away an Anna Dello Russo paper doll by Danielle Meder very soon. Stay tuned!

Anna Dello Russo + Tommy Ton at The Room in Toronto!

Vogue Nippon’s editor-at-large, clothes collector, and a “fashion maniac”, Anna Dello Russo is really a one-woman-fashion-show. And if you have been drooling over her latest designer outfit, now is your chance to meet the Italian-born street-style icon in person!

Anna will be signing autographs at The Room at The Bay on April 21st (11am-12pm) in support of the photo exhibit “When Tommy Met Anna”, shot by Tommy Ton! The exhibit will be on display until April 29th at The Room (Queen St. Bay Store). This is one opportunity, you do not want to miss!

See you there?
