Marc Jacobs’ Final Louis Vuitton Spring 2014 Ad Campaign

louis-vuitton-vogue-sofia-coppola-marc-jacobs-2013

After designing for Louis Vuitton from 1997 to 2013, Marc Jacobs is no longer the brand’s artistic director. With Spring 2014 collection being the last one that the designer has created for the French fashion house, this final Jacobs x LV ad campaign definitely feels like a tribute. Shot by Steven Meisel, the campaign features some of Jacobs’ favourite fashion muses - Catherine Deneuve, Sofia Coppola, Gisele Bündchen, Fan Bingbing, Caroline de Maigret and Edie Campbell, and shows off the label’s stunning update on one of Vuitton’s classic bags - Noé – simple, chic, timeless. For his final collection, Jacobs updated the iconic bag, originally designed by Gaston-Louis Vuitton in 1932 to fulfill a request from a champagne producer for an elegant way of carrying five bottles of fizz (fancy!).

Personally, I find these images striking and memorable, as well as poignant in a way that pays respect to the designer that spent several years of his life designing for Louis Vuitton. It’s the end of an (almost) era.

Lana Del Rey for H&M Ad Campaign

Lana-Del-Rey-HM-

So, the second installment of the Lana Del Rey for H&M ad campaign is here, and I…am bored. Once again she looks dazed and dead-eyed, while the styling is putting me to sleep. I was on a fence about posting these, but since I know that a lot of you are Lana fans, I hope you enjoy these photos. Or if they put you to sleep, I hope that you at least get a good nap out of it.

Lucian Matis Fall 2012 Ad Campaign

lucian-matis-fall-2012

How gorgeous are these shots from the Lucian Matis Fall 2012 campaign? Having seen these clothes in action back in March, I was blown away by the stunning designs, intricate details, and the sheer amount of work and imagination that went into creating these gorgeous pieces. And now, I am just as blown away by this campaign. Moody, dark, and almost fairy-tale-like, these images make me want to see these gowns on someone at the Oscars, or at least at TIFF! On Keira Knightley, perhaps? Someone, make it happen!

What do you think about this campaign? Are you loving the clothes? The styling? Share in the comments!

Aldo Shoes Spring 2012 Ad Campaign

aldo-spring-summer-2012-01

So, the weather outside is crappy…but these new Aldo Shoes Spring 2012 ad campaign photos make me happy. I just wish that I could actually wear all of these fun shoes sometime soon.

The ads, featuring Anais Pouliot and Mat Gordon, were once again shot by Terry Richardson, and just like Aldo’s Fall 2011 ad campaign photos – these shots are silly good fun. Love the props, love the concept, and most of all…love the shoes.
