How great does Lupita Nyong’o look in this sleek Prabal Gurung tuxedo dress? With purple lipstick, white pumps, and a Charlotte Olympia domino clutch, she’s a vision in black and white. And the best part – she looks comfortable, happy, and poised. Now that’s how you do red carpet!

Happy Monday, lovelies! Hope you had a great weekend. After two days of lazying around, watching movies, eating Georgian food, and shopping at Yorkdale, I am bracing myself for a rough week at work, so I am getting my week started with my favourite – Diane Kruger in Chanel with Joshua Jackson by her side. Somehow those two always manage to put a smile on my face.
Diane’s dress is a gorgeous sequined Chanel cocktail frock that probably costs more than a mid-size sedan, and Pacey’s denim tuxedo jacket is a perfect alternative to the classic, but oh-so-tired black dinner blazer. Great looks for all of those upcoming holiday parties, non? Yup, I went there! It’s November 4th, which means that the holidays are just around the corner…but I’ll leave that for another post…or ten. For now, let’s just get through this Monday.

In case you needed another reason to spend your hard-earned pennies, The Collection starring Kate Bosworth for TOPSHOP is now available at The Hudson’s Bay stores in Canada…and it’s pretty great! In her role as a design consultant to TOPSHOP, Kate Bosworth developed the collection alongside the design team. Kate wanted a different tone from the more bohemian inspired Spring Festival range that she starred in, and as a result, a capsule collection of chic modern classics with a twist was created. There are shirt dresses with leather trim, perfect t-shirt dresses, dreamy metallic foil leather (NEED!), sexy stiletto shoes – 46 amazing staple pieces that would complete any wardrobe.
“The collection is tailored and classic. For fall, we wanted to create luxurious pieces with a strong minimalist approach. Slim silhouettes are cloaked in a masculine shape, staying true to the mix of masculine/feminine balance that exists in my personal aesthetic,” shared Kate Bosworth.
What do you think of The Collection? Are there any pieces that you’ll be picking up for yourself? Share in the comments.

Last night, Paris was the place to be! Beautiful celebs like Audrey Tautou, January Jones, Freida Pinto, Astrid Bergès-Frisbey, Olga Kurylenko, Alice Dellal, Mélanie Doutey and Lou Lesage gathered in the city of lights to celebrate the launch of the Isabel Marant pour H&M collection. Guests at the celebration got a chance to shop the collection early and some came decked out in coveted pieces from the highly-anticipated collaboration that will be available for the mere mortals like us on November 14th!
“We wanted to present the collection in a way that felt real and casual, not a red-carpet extravaganza: this is how I see my work. I design for everybody and am constantly inspired by the world I see around me, so it felt natural to have an urban setting as the backdrop of the event. And it had to be Paris, because the city is part of my DNA,” shared Isabel Marant.
“This street celebration was the perfect way to launch a collection that oozes the energy of cool Parisian style. It felt optimistic and real: a reflection of Isabel Marant’s knack for urban sophistication and bohemia. I think the collection for women, men and teen captures her spirit and I hope our customers are as excited as we are for the launch,” said Margareta van den Bosch, Creative Advisor at H&M.
And while we weren’t in Paris to celebrate the launch of Isabel Marant pour H&M, these images of happy models, confetti falling from the sky, and celebs looking gorgeous in their Isabel Marant pour H&M gear definitely convey the feeling of fun and excitement that surely permeated the air that night. Now the countdown REALLY begins…Less than a month to go. What’s your shopping strategy for this one? Share in the comments…and don’t forget to scroll down for more photos from the party.

If you’d told me that Sandra Bullock was 39, I would totally believe you, but the fact is…she’s actually 49! Almost 50 and looking better than ever. How the heck does she do it?! Sandra wore this lovely lace Stella McCartney number to the London premiere of Gravity and I have to say that she looks better now than she did when she was in her 20s. Her hair is sensational, her skin is glowing, and those legs! I am only 29, and I would have to work out for 3 years daily in order to be in the shape she’s in. You heard it here first – 50 is the new 20.
I can’t wait to watch Gravity this weekend. The critics’ ratings are amazing, and the word of mouth is also pretty solid, so yeah…sign me up!

How boring was Emmy Awards fashion last night, you guys? And the actual award show itself, even with my beloved Neil Patrick Harris hosting – it was a snoozefest! If only my house had AMC and Showtime, I would surely be watching Breaking Bad and Dexter instead, but alas…Emmys it was.
Truth be told, I couldn’t find even FIVE starlets worthy the Best Dressed title, so instead, this year’s Emmy Awards get The Meh, The Blah, and The Bad awards here on Style Blog, with the exception of Lena Dunham. No, I don’t love her Prada dress, but it was by far the least boring gown on the red carpet last night, and for that, I commend her. The dress is cute and youthful, she looks pretty and happy, and she’s not wearing white…GAWD, all the white dresses last night! I will never understand how so many of North America’s most beautiful women could manage to look so boring.
The Meh: Kate Mara, Jessica Pare, Claire Danes
Ok, so The Meh dresses were actually pretty good. I liked Mara’s J.Mendel gown, liked her hair, but was it amazing? It was good, yes…but not great. Same thing with Jessica Pare in a lovely aquamarine Oscar de la Renta, which looks a bit odd in the boobage area, even though the colour looks so good on her. Claire Danes’ Armani Privé was also great in theory…it’s actually growing on me as I type this, but I still don’t love it. It sags at the front, and again with the non-colour! Perhaps it’s not fair, but I expect more from Danes. She’s not Carrie Underwood, you know?

Can’t believe another TIFF has come to an end…12 Years a Slave won People’s Choice award, I saw Michael Fassbender at the premiere, admired the Khaleesi’s natural beauty, watched Abigail Breslin get a hand massage, and attended a few fun TIFF Suites. It was a whirlwind several days, but as always – it was a blast! This year, more than a few high-profile stars made their way to Toronto, and while most actresses chose low-key looks (no super fancy Venice-style gowns for us!), there were still more than a few notable outfits that turned heads at TIFF.
Some of my faves included the inimitable Emma Thompson in a mod pink frock, Julia Roberts in a lacy red Dolce & Gabbana, Keira Knightley in a beautiful Mary Katrantzou dress, and Alicia Vikander in a floral Erdem gown (Canadian points to Alicia!). But there were definitely lots more to admire! Here’s hoping next year we’ll see even more glam celeb looks in Toronto.

Even though we’re in the middle of TIFF madness, I wanted to post this amazing Christian Dior dress Cate Blanchett wore at the Deauville Film Festival. It is just so stunning! Cate always manages to look polished and regal no matter what she wears, but she also doesn’t stick to just one silhouette/look and ride its coattails. *cough* Jennifer Aniston *cough*
Regardless of whether you think this looks flattering or not, I would take this “tent” dress over a million LBDs. Just me?

TIFF is here, and Toronto feels like a beehive – buzzing with crowds that keep spilling out onto the streets to get a better look at their fave movie stars. Well, today, I was one of those people. As I was walking by Princess of Wales theatre, I heard people scream Brad Pitt’s name, and decided to cut in and see if I could get a glimpse of Michael Fassbender…and what do you know?! He showed up, got pretty close to where I was standing (my Canon camera at the ready), and while we didn’t have an eye-locking moment like I did last year with Ryan Gosling, I did manage to get a couple of good shots of the Irish dreamboat. Not too bad for day 2 of TIFF, not bad at all!
So what about you? Have you had any close encounters this year? Share your fave TIFF celeb moments in the comments.

I am a sucker for dressed up graphic tees, so it’s no surprise that I am obsessed with Olivia Wilde’s outfit. Keeping everything about her look super simple, and letting the tee (and The Boss!) take center stage, makes this one a winner in my books. Also…that cuff! I may need to get a doppelganger, and soon.
What do you think of Olivia’s casual chic look? Are you still into graphic tees, or are you over this trend? Share in the comments.
