What I Wore: Airport Style

travel-style-what-to-wear-to-airport-2

Last year, I wrote a post on packing light, sharing my fave tips on travelling with my trusty Heys carry-on. And while I mentioned my airport-wear essentials in that post, since a lot of you will be travelling this winter, I thought it might be worth a show-and-tell.

As you can see, my in-flight style is pretty simple. Jeans with stretch for comfort and the softest sweatshirt I own, leather jacket to warm me up in case it gets chilly, a pair of comfy boots that I can quickly take off at security, and of course, socks! No belt or jewellery to remove (I pack those in a clutch inside my carry-on), no uncomfortable pieces of clothing to worry about. Just a practical outfit, paired with a roomy Longchamp tote filled with toiletries (in a clear bag), magazines, documents, pashmina, and a small purse, along with my Heys carry-on. Effective and efficient. I can’t stress enough how much easier going through security is when you think your outfit and your packing through. Huge difference!

So tell me about your airport style! Do you glam it up while travelling, or do you wear the comfiest thing you can find? Share your secrets in the comments!

Solid tips! I usually wear jeans and a sweatshirt as well. No jewelry. I try to layer (tank–long sleeve–sweater) if I’m travelling Toronto->Caribbean in the winter. That way, I’m prepared for both climates without having to change (much).

Hi! Did you buy your tote in Toronto?

  • Karolin, I totally forgot to mention the tank under the sweatshirt thing! I do that too. That way you can just peel off as many layers as you need ;) Great tip!

  • Hey Amanda! I bought this tote in Quebec City. There’s a little Longchamp boutique in the old town part of the city.

I love that you have the larger of the two carry-ons!! I carry a pashmina, blazer, jeans and my longchamp too (best travel bags).

  • Super perfect outfit for travelling! I love the luggage too. I am lucky to have gotten the little luggage set from the H&M Anna Della Russo and they’re so pretty that I’m not sure I should be using them for actual travel. Would you?

But then again, it wouldn’t make sense for this just to be on display at home!

I’ll be travelling to Jamaica in April for a friend’s destination wedding and I’m already looking for vacation inspiration.

Talk about traveling in style! Love your luggage, so considering looking into vintage ones.
Your outfit was perfect for travel- I tend to forget to wear the “right” pair of shoes, and sometimes over accessorize.

  • LOVE your luggage – the map pattern is so cute!

You are so lucky! I tried to call the boutique in Quebec but they don’t carry it they said. :(

  • Your luggage bags are soo cute!

I always wear my usual when travelling, jeans, t-shirt, soft jacket and comfy shoes. And… just to be original I’m going to say ‘love your suitcases!’
