Beauty: Winter Skin Rescue

winter-skin-rescue-2013-2

After le bf and I returned from our Caribbean Christmas getaway, I was relaxed, refreshed, and…BURNED! Even though I tried to protect my face from the sun, apparently, I didn’t do enough, and was punished with peeling skin, deepened wrinkles, and freckles (aka sun damage) galore. That’s the thing about the holidays, even without the excessive sunbathing, all of those parties, complete with hors d’oeuvres and cocktails wreck havoc on your skin. So if you are making New Year’s resolutions this year, taking care of your skin should definitely make the list.

5 products that will be saving my skin this winter after the jump!

1. Korres Yoghurt Instant Soothing Gel

Flaky skin happens, both from too much sun, and cold temperatures alike, and this winter, Korres Yoghurt Instant Soothing Gel is just the product to make sure that your skin gets plenty of moisture. My skin soaks it right up, without feeling oily or greasy.

2. Maybelline Baby Lips

Just say no to chapped lips. Baby Lips has been my must-have for months now, and my lips haven’t felt or looked better. With SPF 20, 8-hour hydration, and a variety of pretty shades, this is the best lip balm out there…no competition!

3. Caudalie Deep Cleansing Exfoliator

It’s just as important to exfoliate your skin as it is to moisturize it, and Caudalie’s Deep Cleansing Exfoliator is as gentle as it is effective. “Exfoliating micro-particles clean the skin deeply and unclog pores, grape pulp leaves your skin moisturized, soft and smooth, menthol extract creates a feeling of freshness.” Once you try it, you’ll be hooked.

4. Raw Juice Guru’s 3-day Cleanse

I’ve been really excited to try Raw Juice Guru’s 3-day Cleanse! As someone who eats a lot of junk, I’d like to start 2013 with detoxing and repairing my body. If you are hardcore, you could try a 5-day, or a 10-day, or a 28-day cleanse…but for my first juice cleanse, I’ll start with three.

5. Elizabeth Grant Collagen Face and Eye Pads

After our vacation, I looked in the mirror to find deepened wrinkles under my eyes. As someone still in her 20′s, I definitely wasn’t very happy about my discovery. Lucky for me, I had some Elizabeth Grant Eye Pads handy, which after application completely got rid of those under-eye lines. As in…my wrinkles disappeared! “Collagen Face Pads are an intensive Collagen treatment to smooth and firm the appearance of the face. Each pad is infused with a mixture of Marine Collagen and Torricelumn™. Placing the pads directly onto clean skin delivers Collagen directly onto the skin, creating immediate moisturizing and smoothing benefits.” So if you are looking for a product that will give your face a fresh start, I highly recommend these collagen miracle pads!

I shall someday try Caudalie’s products. I’ve heard to much about them.

In the winter, I make certain to not forget my SPF30 and I use plenty of moisturizer and hand cream.
