Wishlist: Fall 2012 Surrealist Accessories

surrealist-accessories-fall-2012-2

From Nicholas Kirkwood to Diane Von Furstenberg to Lanvin to MAC Cosmetics, it seems everyone is embracing the surreal and the abstract in fashion. And for someone like me, who loves all things quirky, these pieces are simply perfect. Last week, I actually saw the Kirkwood flats at The Room, and was so tempted to buy them, but I’m afraid le bf would kick me out of the house, if I’d brought another pair of weird-looking shoes home. Obviously, I will still keep an eye on them, just in case a pair is available in my size come sale time.

What do you think of this artsy trend? Are you as into it as me, or do you find it weird? Let me know in the comments!

  1. This reminds me of the large-ish “vignette” handbags – mostly Paris – that were so popular a few years ago. I have one sitting in the back of my armore.*sigh* The flats would make “nifty”-if-expensive bedroom slippers when the fad fades…

“Bf”? I thought you two got married this summer? And, if so, might I gently remind you that we didn’t get to see your wedding ensemble in the “What I Wore” section… ;)
