What I Wore: Faking It

Last weekend was brutal for me. I won’t go into details, but I feel exhausted this week, and it’s only TUESDAY! Plus, the rainy/crappy weather certainly isn’t helping.

The only positive of this temperature shift, is that I finally get to wear my beloved faux fur vest! And that’s about it.

Hope your weekend was more fun than mine! What did you do?

I Wore: Shirt – Gap; Fur Vest – Winners; Pleather Pants, Necklace – Forever21; Boots – Proenza Schouler (The Room); Clutch – Prada (Holt Renfrew)

Marni x H&M = Match Made in Heaven!

If there’s one brand that I’ve loved forever and ever, as far as I can remember – it’s Marni. Their prints, accessories, and shoes have always elicited the shriekiest of shrieks out of me, and I am still kicking myself for not getting the balloon bag, and a gorgeous art-deco necklace I once found at some high-end outlet. Kicking. Myself.

Anyway…past disappointments aside, I am super psyched about this morning’s announcement that Marni is set to design a Spring 2012 collection (both womenswear and menswear) for H&M.

“H&M is proud to announce a spring designer collaboration with the Italian brand Marni. Famed for its original prints and inventive spirit, Marni is one of fashion’s most-loved labels, and its founder and creative director Consuelo Castiglioni has created a spring collection for women and men that captures the essence of Marni. Available from March 8th, 2012 in around 260 H&M stores worldwide and online, the collection features both clothing and accessories, all at H&M’s prices, meaning everyone will have the chance to enter Marni’s world.”

Judging from the released pics, I am going to lo-lo-loooove the collection, and I might even consider lining up overnight for this one. Maybe.

Are you as excited as I am about the upcoming Marni x H&M collection? Share in the comments.

One more pic after the jump!

Wishlist: Miu Miu Glitter Shoes

I’ve already professed my love for Miu Miu Glitter Booties on my Stylish Bride blog (which I’ve abandoned lately), but I just cannot get enough of Miu Miu gorgessity this season. This ad, featuring Hailee Steinfeld living out every girl’s dream of swimming in sparkly shoes, is a few months old now, but the impact is still the same – NEED.WANT.GOTTA.HAVE.

Unfortunately, I still haven’t seen this exact pump online…but I am paying close attention – the pair in blue has my name written all over it. Which color is your fave? Share in the comments!

Style Days of Christmas: Misikko Giveaway

Style Days of Christmas Day 12

I can’t believe it’s Day 12 of Style Days of Christmas Giveaways already! It went by in a flash, and I really hope that the winners enjoyed their prizes, and everyone else got a few holiday gift ideas in the process.

Our final giveaway is here, and it would make for an amazing Christmas present! Up for grabs is one Hana Professional Flat Iron (est value $205), courtesy of Misikko! If you were looking for a new professional-grade flat iron, you’re in luck, because Misikko carries some of the best flat irons in the industry…ones that make hair soft, shiny, manageable, and pin-straight (if you are so inclined)!

Holidays 2011: Gift Guide for Him

This year, le boyfriend and I have decided to limit our gift-giving to one present each. So whatever I end up getting him really has to count! Unlike me, he doesn’t get very excited over presents (crazy, I know), so practical is the way to go for him.

Now, I am not saying a $3K coffee machine is necessarily practical, but if you can afford it, this Saeco Xelsis Digital ID SLX 8870 MS is a Lamborghini of coffee makers, complete with fingerprint technology. And it makes the best cappuccinos ever! Perhaps I should’ve put it on my wishlist instead.

What’s on your man’s wishlist this year? Share in the comments.

1. Saeco Coffee Machine ($3,200)

2. Gucci Formal Lace-Up ($640)

3. HBC Collection Burton Snowboard ($795)

4. Official 2012 Team Canada Olympic Apparel (from $15)

5. Beer of the Month Club Membership (from $29.99 per month)

Style Fille: Ginnifer Goodwin

This photo of Ginnifer Goodwin in Vionnet is at least a few months old, but it seems very appropriate to post it now – as her outfit looks so perfect for the holidays! Really loving the combination of velvet and leather…a lot.

On an unrelated Ginnifer Goodwin note. Have you been watching Once Upon a Time? I’ve been hooked from the very beginning. As someone who looooves Wicked (by Gregory Maguire), I am really happy with the way the show has been bringing fairy tales to life. And casting Ginnifer as Snow White, with her pixie haircut – even better!

What do you think of Ginnifer’s outfit? Share in the comments.

Style Days of Christmas

A couple of months ago, I got to check out Esprit’s holiday collection, and I was blown away with the number of pieces I wanted needed to get my hands on! There were gorgeous star-print dresses (very Dolce & Gabbana, but for a fraction of a price!), luxurious-looking  velvet blazers (so dreamy in jewel tones), and so much more!

So if you are in need of a new holiday outfit, look no further! Today’s giveaway is a $50 gift card from Esprit! Wish I could keep this one all to myself. Want it? Enter below!

What I Wore: Snake Charmer

Is it bad that in my books, this counts as a conservative outfit? When I first wore these snakeskin pants (purchased at my trusty H&M), le boyfriend LITERALLY recoiled in what can only be construed as horror. Yeah, yeah, Eastern European fashions…blah, blah, blah. Snakeskin prints (not unlike other animal prints) are scary to men…and I don’t understand why.

Take these pants, for example…I really like them, not just because python is a huge trend for fall, no! Because high waist elongates my legs, leather detailing on the pockets adds something extra to the look, and because they fit like a dream. Seriously, what’s not to love?

And in order to prove my point (or maybe le boyfriend’s point), I am going to ask you to take this poll. Do you think these pants are work-appropriate? Why or why not? These are cotton trousers, and I think they should be fair game at the office…especially, when worn with something as conservative as my silk Joe Fresh button up. Do you agree? Disagree? Take the poll below, and let me know!

Tell me: Are These Pants Office-Appropriate?

LG Fashion Week: Pink Tartan Spring 2012

I can’t believe it’s almost December, and I am still posting LGFW reviews! At least, as with other spring previews, it gives you (and me) something to look forward to this winter. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

So, on to Pink Tartan Spring 2012. French tunes leading the way, attendees were in for a Riviera-inspired treat. Chic black and white frocks, striped jackets, and cigarette pants were all perfect for trotting the streets of Nice, looking like you belong.

My favorite pieces included anything striped (obviously), shiny red (or blue) pants (so fun!), and dresses that looked office-appropriate, yet dressy enough for a night out on the town (best combo ever).

Overall, Pink Tartan Spring 2012 certainly wasn’t a groundbreaking collection, but I loved it nonetheless. Most pieces had a timeless feel (save for the shiny red pants) that I’ve been needing to infuse into my own wardrobe. In my opinion, the more wearable, modern classics, the better.

What do you think of Pink Tartan’s spring collection? Let me know in the comments.
