What I Wore: Leather Shorts

So I went a little crazy at H&M the other day, and ended up with a ton of new and exciting items in my closet. But there was one thing I wasn’t sure that I’d keep – these faux leather shorts. I’ve been looking for a perfect pair of leather shorts for a while now…I want them longer (hitting at mid-thigh), somewhat loose fitting, cuffed, and with higher waist. Basically, I want a completely different pair of shorts. But for some reason, I just can’t convince myself to let them go. What do you guys think? Should I hold out for the “perfect” pair, or should I settle for these short-shorts? Take the poll below.

Should I keep these shorts or return them?

Hey Nelia! I hope you had an amazing long weekend (looks like you did, with all the shopping at H&M, hehehe..) :)

I actually think those shorts look good on you. Yes, they are short and yes, I would wear them with tights. But they make your “derriere” looks very bootylicious (which is a good thing, but I just realized that this comment makes me sound like a perv!hahaha..) :p

I just read Chic Heroin blog (http://chicheroin.blogspot.com/) and she posted some pictures of Aritzia’s upcoming Fall collections. There’s a picture of Wilfred leather shorts, which are longer, more loose-fitting, and cuffed ;) So if you want, you can return those H&M ones and wait for the Wilfred ones to hit the stores :)

    Just a suggestion :)

I like how you balanced the tough leather shorts with a feminine lace top! I know what you mean about settling for something when you can’t find exactly what you want, and in your case I would probably keep those shorts and wear them with tights. Since they were H&M they probably weren’t too expensive too, right? If your ideal pair comes out, these ones are still different enough to justify keeping both ;)

Hope I’m not too bad of an influence hehe.
    Have a great day!
    Jen

I actually really like how you styled these shorts. In fact, this outfit looks pretty awesome. But I think if they’re not what you want, I would probably return them and keep searching for a pair you feel more comfortable in.

Kristy – you don’t sound like a perv :) I do appreciate the compliment! Will be on the lookout for those Aritzia shorts, though the stretchy waistband is somewhat of a turn off.

Jen – they were VERY affordable, but I feel like I am accumulating a lot of “not quite right” items in my closet, but perhaps in this case, the drastic difference justifies the “keep” option :)

    Melinda – Thanks :)

  • Those shorts look amazing on you!!! Please don’t return them. You should keep these AND find the leather shorts of your dreams. ;o)

These shorts are great, but if you really want longer, looser ones, H&M had some for $10 last month in a beautiful beige colour. (If you want to see them first, I wore them here: http://notsonaked.blogspot.com/2010/09/polka-face.html )

Love the leather shorts. You should try an embossed croco leather next time.
