Okay, so before you start guessing, you need to know that this is not an easter basket left over from last year’s egg hunt…and it is is made by Chanel. Haha. Yes, that Chanel! Remember the Spring/Summer 2010 barn show? Well, this was one of the “bags” that the models carried. If you thought that this “bag” was made out of recycled flower baskets, stuffed with some straw and hay…you were almost right! Now how much would you shell out for this piece of crap art?
Guess the price and then click to see if you were right!
This basket-purse will cost you $12,500! That is dollars. Not imaginary dollars. Not even 12,500 Canadian Tire dollars. Nor is it a typo…I didn’t mean to type 12,500 pennies or 0.12500 dollars. Nope. TWELVE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS. Was this basket woven using Karl Lagerfeld’s magical hair? Does it cook you breakfast in the morning???
And here I am wondering why Chanel is increasing their prices yet again in February…this is twice in less than six months! And to top it all off, this “bag” is featured on Style.com as part of their Spring Buyer’s Guide. What the hell is wrong with people?

These bags were first made in Japan during the 1950′s.
Rather nawdy of Chanel to rip off a design like that if I might say so.
I actually got two, one in natural color with off-white net, the other one is black with red net. Got one for £5 and the other for £10.50.
