Last time Jo and I were in New York together, the purpose of our trip was (of course) shopping! And shop we did. Chanel, LV, Gucci, Burberry, Saks…we made all of the major designer stops, and then Jo’s friend Jane dragged us into the Mikimoto store on Fifth Avenue. If you, like me two years ago, are wondering “what the heck is Mikimoto?”, the answer is a jewelry store. More specifically – pearls. Not the boring, run of the mill, conservative “grandma” pearls…no, not those. Mikimoto pearls are so beautiful, that even me, who’s totally cool about jewels of any kind…even I was sold.
My favorite was the Pearls in Motion line, which is painfully expensive, but if you think about it is kind of an investment, since you can create so many looks with moveable pearls and the adjustable chain (yes, I subscribe to the church of Shopoholism). Anyway, Pearls in Motion = Total Hotness. And now it’s available on the internet - pretty convenient if you don’t have a store nearby. And since I already got my Christmas gift this year (thanks, hun! I love my paper shredder!), Mikimoto pearls also make a wonderful Valentine’s Day gift! Just throwing it out there…no pressure.
