My summer uniform consists of a multitude of dresses, sandals, flats, and cardigans. Boring, I know! But once the mercury starts to rise, it’s easy to come up with various excuses to wear yet another dress. For one, they are super easy – one piece, no thinking/effort required, 5 minutes and I’m out the door. Dresses are also a great way to show off your tanned legs, or get those ghost-like stems tanned. Dresses are girly, yet sexy, and are so nice and breezy to wear. I love dresses!
The only gripe is that you can only wear them so many times before others start to notice (and by others I mean other girls, because guys really do not notice at all, even if you’ve been wearing the same dress for the last two seasons…gasp…with the same shoes…double gasp!). Boredom is another con, accessories can definitely make the same old outfit look fresh and new, but then again, you can only do so much. That’s where Forever21 comes in. Truth be told, I hated the store when it first arrived in Houston. Could not stand it. Found it cheap and cheap-looking. That opinion has definitely changed over the years. While I do prefer stores like Zara and Club Monaco for staple pieces, my “disposable” dresses come from Forever21…and I love them!
Checking the website for latest styles has become a ritual for my friends and I, as styles are updated every second (not really, but close enough). And with free (and super fast) shipping, online shopping couldn’t be easier. Most dresses are within a $25-$35 range - nice and affordable, making it easier to save up for that Chanel bag I’ve been coveting forever without the risk of being seen wearing the same thing twice! And have I mentioned that I love dresses?
